I use to work for an insurance company which always had a worker comp line of business. It is illegal for a company to fire an employee after they had gotten hurt on the job and filed a claim. Now they can reassign them a different position, as in this guy's case. They can legally take him off the dedicated run and offer him OTR and they have the right to have him go back through orientation if he is out for a long period of time.

Whispers, you're right. I missed that in the OP. JB did cover its rear by offering an OTR position to this guy, so I guess they didn't technically "fire him". They just wanted to piss him off enough so he'd quit. Typical strategy.

What they will do is also is report another reason for letting you go. They can always back out of that reason.
They call it good business. -
All you have to do is remember what company your talking about.ANYTHING is possible with them.:smt025

Anderson trucking service is as crooked as a barrel of corkscrews. I was fired in 2000 because of the large medical bills of my late wife who was dieing of diebetes. And I was paying for the insurance. I hope that the [jerks] that was reponsible die slowly of cancer then go to hell!!!!
