You need one of these perch mounts for your cb antenna. This is the only way you'll get good reception on a Volvo truck. You can pick one up at most truck stops for about $10 or so. You simply unscrew the top bolt on the mirror bracket on the top of the door and screw this threaded bar into it's place and then mount the cb antenna mount to it.

How about the sPlitter box to run two antennas? Who likes
Two vs one and one vs two CB antennas and why? Besides looks. Thank you. -
Forget running 2 antennas for your cb. The way I always ran mine was I bought some good mini 8 coax ( not the junk they sell in the truckstops either ) and ran my own coax through the door to my cb mount. You can leave the stock antennas for your stereo and TV.
-
Why not 2 antennas for the cb?
-
It's been explained time and time again here on this forum I'm not gonna type it all out again. In short, one is better than 2. If you search the cb forum you'll find it explained several different places.

So I heard on the CB that Mercer is looking to hire and have even given brochures and apps to their drivers to hand out to interested drivers out on the road. (this is coming from a Mercer driver talking on the CB).
Any truth to that? -
Mercer doesn't hire. They contract Owner Operator's. As for the apps or flyers, I have no clue. But they have been contracting drivers & trucks like wildfire.
-
Perhaps they'll have the work to back it up with descent rates.

Since I'm on the inside of this organization & can see the actual freight, freight rates, lanes, & current fuel prices..... I find your comment entertaining!!! -
it's like REDD says.....the applications are for the contractors...IF you go to work for a contractor that has a lease at Mercer you still have to fill out the paperwork/application but you are working and get paid by the contractor who's truck you will be driving........MERCER owns no OTR trucks.....and yes us drivers/contractors do tell others about Mercer.....at prior post on this thread will show you.......
