Oh crap! Does SWIFT make you go into the city and deliver. OH, I SO HOPE NOT! What a nightmare. Did you know that they have some real strict laws going on up there. One is a new smoking ordinance.:biggrin_25524:

Ok that is great! I was really hoping they where not forced dispatch. I was hoping we had some say on where we went. NYC makes me a crazy person. DON'T LIKE IT!:biggrin_2556:

That being said, if you refuse loads a lot, you will not make money. I have seen drivers, especially owner/operators, refuse load after load, because they use Swift as a travel agency rather than a way to make money.

Eventually, the planner will stop planning the truck because they know they driver will just refuse the load.

That being said, I have also seen o/o's that will do anything or go anywhere, because they are doing this job to make money. I have a short list of drivers that have given me their word they will be there if I need them. Three drivers. And they are all o/o's.

So if you dont like NYC, thats fine. I dont either, and I did go there once. But I would go anywhere else.

Company drivers are allowed to refuse loads only after consulting with their DMs.

    Lol
    What are you scared of.
I have never been stopped for smoking in my truck up there.
It's not that bad if YOU properly PLAN your trip.

I don't mind driving thru, but delivering anywhere in the NYC-Newark area is definitely a no go for me. Be happy to get it close and t-call or swap it with someone that knows the area, but this Redneck ain't stopping in there!
