Hi Y'all
I have joined this Trucker's Forum mainly for the CB sub-forum. I have decided to forgo all my old bad habits and get back to the country life I left so many years ago.
After four long USAF years I hauled logs down Mt. Hood and the hills of northern Oregon and southern Washington in '70 and '71. I drove an Acar with a 250 Cummins, five and a four, twin screw when it wasn't broken down.
I decided that was too weather dependent and went back to the computer field that the AF trained me for. I stayed with that until '94 when the major morning newspaper I worked for was crushed by another in the same city.
I've had a few odd jobs since then but nothing to write home about.
The way fuel prices are now reminds me of what Oregon was like back in the early 70's. We were hit hard up there. So I've decided to get back into CB communications. I hope I can help y'all as much as y'all can help me.
About my sig. I wasn't born here in Texas but I was conceived here. I used to carry a Native Texan card in the '70s and '80s when so many ex UAW were moving down here. I don't remember what happened to that card.
Anyhoo. I'm glad to be here.

Thanks! Didn't know y'all let geezers in the party. Which way to the bar?

After some thought, I changed my details from "Ex-2 year" to "4 wheeler". 1970-71 was a long time ago and I haven't driven a rig since then. Also I didn't really know if the "Ex-?years" meant total time driving or time since driving. I figgered 4-wheeler would satisfy any "audit".
