I knew they had a bad rating but didn't know it was that bad. I went the last 30 years without getting any citations and I'll do it again. When I look at the rating it makes me understand a little better why I got 12 months off. I will get past this and go to work for another company and at the end of the 12 months I will stay with what ever company I'm driving for. I will not go back to Butler. It's just a shame that a driver can have a perfectly clean driving record and lose his job because he gets two citations in one night. This is why I'm saying the CSA will do more harm than the good it was intended for.
The New CSA 2010 rules can end your carer !

It's a real shame alright. It makes no sense to me that a carrier would get rid of someone with a good record over one incident. 12 years with nothing, one little blip and probably a number of years before anything else. Could turn out to be a good thing for other companies willing to take on someone like larry016.

hey....my "bedside manners" are great....(when i'm sleeping)...

####, i went to the website as well, but the graph i got was way different than yours....
i saw the "over 90" scores in 2 areas, and thought, "oh well, here comes the intervention" the CSA was talking about in their site....trucker_101 Thanks this. -
Are the stats in that graph bad enough to force them to have e-logs? Maybe now we know the real reason for the switch?

Lets all look at it like this. no one out there is always in the right. we all speed at one time or another and have things wrong with our trucks. we also don`t always go by the book you know the written in black and white
letter of the law. no one can say they are 100% al the time. only reason
any of us have clean records is we have been lucky very lucky. With csa they are cracking down. this means we all need to do things better. -
Great news!!!!! My wife and I just got hired by a company out of Michigan as team drivers.
Now that I know the damage CSA can do to you driving career we will be a lot more careful from now on! In 3 years I'll have a clean record again and I'll be sure to keep it that way!
To Capital 48, you are absolutely right. No one is always 100% Every driver on the road at one time or another commits a violation of some kind. No one is perfect!
Just remember drivers with these new rules every time you get a DOT inspection be it in the barn or the road side any and all violations will go on the CSA. It will be a lot harder to keep a clean driving record. Just don't commit the big ones like I did, I'll know better from now on!!tinytim and bonbonsron Thank this. -
Great to hear you found work. good luck. what company in michigan. -
Glad to hear you were hired - figured that would happen for ya! We just have to start driving in a manner that keeps our interactions with DOT to a minimum. As some have been saying - its a different ball game now.

did you sign any form asking them to view your PSP report...?? if not, they may ask you later. be prepared. you certainly had to tell them you were suspended...have they done the FULL check on you and your wife..?? they are going to want to know why the 2 of you were "let go" for a period of time...trucker_101 Thanks this. -
Thanks to all for you kind words! Rerun8963, Yes we disclosed all information to this new company (AD Express in Canton Mi) and signed release froms for Dac, Drug Test History, PSP, Driving record, MVR and they have contacted Butler Transport and got our work history from them. Butler is giving us a good reference. I don't know exactly what Butler told them but They would have to be truthful. The fact that we worked there for 6 years with a clean record (until the two citations I just got) says a lot. In three years my PSP will be clean again and I'll make sure we do everything we can to keep it that way.
To Rerun 8963, it is apparent that you are respected and the people here value your opinion. I would like to offer a word of advise. When someone comes on this board and tells their story don't jump on them and accuse them of crying about what happened to them. That makes you look like one of the drivers that gets on the CB and tries to start a argument because they think its funny. I have never been here before I started this thread. I did not expect anyone to pat me on the head and give me milk and cookies. My only intentions was to share my story with all the drivers here so they could see how easy one could loose their job under the new CSA rules. I was not asking for sympathy but I also was not asking to be kicked when I was down. Anyway I thank you for the advise you did give me.Rerun8963 Thanks this.
