Interesting. You say I'm regurgitating info, and you're posting to help others.
Showing that you know how to make the wrong food choices, or to virtually starve yourself, is helping people?
You've been given a few ideas, by myself and others, but you insist you know best, without trying what anyone else suggests.
This, all from the one who hasI can show studies and examples of why my way of eating works, and is healthy. You won't even go see your Dr. to make sure you don't have any issues.
I'm thinking I'm done with this thread. -
I agree with alot of this. Rocky64 we have given you what we feel will help you with your issues. see a doc., then use what he/she says and
along with what we have given you and you will see a big change. good luck to you. -
See and that is why getting information from on line or in a forum like this is just that-getting information. Each person is going to do what they want no matter what book they have read and feel they know all the answers, no matter what MD is sporting what new fad on TV or what ever ''new'' fad is out there...............
The plain fact is that with the internet there is SO MUCH MISINFORMATION out there that NO ONE knows what is good bad or indifferent. I went to school and have many years experience in the health care profession under my belt with the information I give ONLY TO INFORM those of what is considered healthy. But since everyone and their brother can GLEEN info from the internet, or TV, or a book, they think THEY have the right answer.
Ya know what- the right answer for Rocky I guess is going to be what works for him. IF we all don't agree and he doesn't follow what we think-so be it. I think Rocky you should seek medical professinal help such as an MD or RD or what ever. But you will do what you want to do-that is what makes us all uniquely different. What works for one does NOT work for another.
We can give our opinions all we want-that is what they are-opinions...........
what is the old saying, '' you can lead a horse to water, but you can't make him drink.'' -
Please, don't think for a minute that I'm not taking all this in. I am simply posting my challenges.
Posting my challenges helps me identify MY triggers and shortcomingsin regards to food. Maybe... I'm not the only who deals with an issue like mine?
It's really odd. I can't eat lightly and make any of you happy, and I can't binge without being told how deficient I am. Luckily, this will nor keep me from posting the details of when I have my failures, which happen, but that's life.
Either way, I truly thank all of you from the heart, ALL OF YOU. But please recognize that not perfect, and if someone that is reading this has the same challenges, they might not be able to take the criiticizing like I can.
Thanks for being there for me. -
Well,you can ALWAYS start smoking..!!

This is great info. I personally keep celery and carrots in my cooler for snacking as I drive. They do a great job of quelling the hunger. Nuts are also good in moderation.
Also eat more slowly. It takes time for the stomach to tell the brain it is full. I am sure that we have all had those holiday meals where we eat too fast and stuff ourselves then 30 minutes later we REALLY feel it.
Drink more water or low calorie fluids when you eat. This will also help give the stomach a full feeling. You will have the full feeling but most of it is water.
Don't eat 3 meals a day, but rather eat 6 snack size meals again with a lot of fluids.
And above all exercise.. Eat less, move more the only diet that works. Start with the push aways(from the table LOL).
Good Luck1nonly Thanks this. -
Oh, one more thing. If you have a big meal for the day, make it breakfast. The worst thing you can do is eat heavy at the end of the day. Exercise is best for me before a couple of hours I go to bed.

I eat nuts daily. I like salty, and there's not much healthy food that tastes salty. Nuts satisfy my salt cravings, plus they're so fatty, they fill me up quick so I only eat a few. And they're full of good stuff, and keep well in the truck.
Just don't eat the whole can at once!!!!!

I have had the same issues of dropping a lot of weight then binging. I found it easiest to keep track of the calories I eat. No diet, no eat this or that, I eat anything I want and still binge on favorites like an entire 1200 calorie bag of chips but still stay under my daily calorie limit for proper weight maintenance. Here is a simple formula for everybody
CALORIES FOR WEIGHT MAINTENANCE
To maintain your weight, you can use the following formula:
- 10 calories per pound of desirable body weight if you are sedentary or very obese
- 13 calories per pound of desirable body weight if your activity level is low, or if you are over age 55
- 15 calories per pound of desirable body weight if you regularly do moderate activity
- 18 calories per pound of desirable body weight if you regularly do strenuous activity
Rocky64 Thanks this.
