Hey guys, I have a quick question...

Would you say that the following prices are too high or about average for?

$1,080 = Install 20 LED lights on the sides of reefer (5 above/5 below on each side)

    $490 = Built-in Weight Scale

I'm only asking if these are TOO HIGH. I am purchasing the trailer and bundling the costs into the financing. Plus I prefer paying decent prices for a quality job than go for the cheapest and get a cheap install job. We're also talking about average good quality parts not top of the line. Any opinions?

I hear ya, but I know my limitations. I am far from being a mechanic or an electrician. What you would do in 2 hours it would take me 6-8 hours and I still would probably do something wrong. Changing fluids and fuses and removing bolts I am good with, but anything else I would rather leave to somebody that knows what they're doing. BTW, the work will be done by the Utility dealership themselves. I'm calculating that they are charging about $65-$70/hr for labor which doesn't sound bad to me.

I recently bought a new reefer also, and had lights and load gauge installed. The price on the lights is about right with what I paid, but the load gauge you're getting may be different. Mine was $150, but it's just a liquid filled gauge, not electronic or anything.

The reason i let the dealer install the lights is because by letting them do it, it wouldn't void the warranty on the wiring harness. And they did a very professional job I must say.

    Nootherids Thanks this.

If you are an electrician and have the credentials to prove so, you might contact the manufacturer for a wiring diagram if it is not under warranty. If the trailer is, see if they would you to do it. I helped one driver, who was a electrician, wire lights on his trailer and they worked perfectly. The truck and trailer are in my pics.

IMO don't waste your money on a load scale. A $10 pressure gauge will do the exact same thing and depending on what brand suspension you have Hendrickson has the load charts telling you what PSI = Weight.
