Well, a week ago I decided to finally take the plunge and signed up for school after hearing back from the company of my choice. I start on the 28th and I'm going to United Truck Driving School in CA. I spent a good 6 months researching companies and the whole process.
My good friend and I are looking to run team at Watkins Shepard. We've both talked to them and everything sounds good from there so far. They were by far my first choice. He has ~12 years of driving experience. I've ridden with him a couple times from LA to Hunt's Point in NYC. Even got stuck in Kearny for 10 days waiting on a load once and it still didn't scare me away lol.
I'm pretty excited about the whole thing. Having ridden with him we already know we can get along in close quarters and I know what I'm getting into. I'm just looking forward to working again.
I wanted to thank all of you on the forums though as this place is a treasure trove of information, as long as you can sift through all of the BS. I've never even felt the need to ask a questions as someone has already asked it and been answered. Crap, 99% of the time someone has asked the same question for the 900,000th time so it's in the first couple pages and you don't even need to use the search function.

Good to hear that you're looking at Watkins. Good luck and have fun at school and I already heard you met my SO who is at school there right now

W/S is a good company to start with, they treat their drivers really well. Keep us updated!DirtyBob Thanks this. -
Yeah, I'm definitely looking forward to W/S. They seem the best for my friend and I.
I took the all of the permit tests today and missed 2 questions out of all of the endorsements so definitely passed that. Feels good to have the first part out of the way now. -
*gasps* You missed two? I was expecting perfection from you. Okay, not really. But good job.

If Joe gets to Riverside on time on Friday, you might get to meet a real W/S driver, as opposed to a wannabe like me. If you want, that is... he's kinda scary... *runs*DirtyBob Thanks this. -
Hey now! I'm not that scary ::glare::

Cool, look forward to meeting you if you're down there on Friday.
