i start a program for trucking at sage technical school, after which i do a continued program, and before i state who, i will start out saying, i have read all the post and no i wont be pressured into the lease program, even though it will be hard because iam a business minded guy, the company who called me back was cr. england, some sort of advanced training, thing. it says 17 days in salt lake city, and 1 month side by side with someone and 2 months side by side with an owner operator, at which phase 1 the 1st month i get only 61.70 dollars a day then the phase 2 which is the 2 months i only get .12 cents a mile, i do not really like this at all. but iam also told to feel lucky that i even have a job. and getting the experience i need. any input or thoughts is great. thanks
hello all, completely new to trucking, idaho

Welcome, as you go thru school, you will be approached by various companies and also, you can ask the school personnel about various companies to talk to. If C.R. England is paying for the Sage school, (which they aren't), then you aren't commited to them.

You should look into Swift (also a major terminal in SLC)...1-800-800-1100 would be the line for Swift SLC...ask for recruiting!
Swift out of SLC would get you plenty of home time and a much preferred company over CR England! Same training program without the L/O pressure...but the L/O opportunity is also offered!
You would go solo much quicker with Swift over the "Phase" program at CR England. -
awesome, i will call swift now. thanks
otherhalftw Thanks this. -
Another option is May Trucking, they have main terminals in Layton Utah (Between Ogden & SLC) and Payette Idaho.
I was through Idaho a lot when I was a May driver.
Good company IMHO http://www.maytrucking.com/otherhalftw Thanks this. -
Welcome to the party!

thank you everyone, it is well appreciated, i filled out an app with swift and talked with a recruiter and it sounds like they just may do it to. i will check out this may company too

i so far seem to be able to work for Cr. England, swift, and pride. which i looked up the history of pride and found out the owner is a grandson or great grandson of Cr. England... my question is though he is grandson is pride a better company ? i like pride so far they seem like a good company. thanks everyone.
