I am talking with Chris shank at mercer. He sent me a app. Got couple of question. What insurance do u have to have, like bobtail, liability, cargo insurance, can u get these thru mercer or do I have to go thru independent. Right now I go thru my company that I am lease thru but they carry the cargo liability . Thanks

hey is anyone getting grilled everytime you call in empty. Like "what time did you arrive?" and "when excatly did you get empty?" I questioned the dispatcher on it and she said she can not clear the screen unless it is filled out. So I said.. Uh huh or is someone trying to match up my logs with what i say?.. She said she did not know and sometimes it does this.. First time it has ever done this for me!!

I was just wondering since it says mercer can assist you. That why I was asking, also I was probing to see if people go thru mercer or outside insurance

emailed from mercer a year ago
Insurance will be on Collision $26 a month for every $10,000.00 insured. 4 x 26 = $ 104.00 a month plus the $15.00 bobtail/deadhead you are looking at $119.00 for a month on insurance. Workman's comp runs $200.00 a month. I know that is not the best deal but due to most of the owner operators not getting it we were not able to get the best deal. Pre pass is $12.00 a month, Trip pak is $6.00 a month, We only require a $350.00 escrow account, so once that is put in you wont be required to add any more unless you want to. If you are going to be running all 48 the plate will cost you $2,150.00 for the year. This will be deducted out of settlements over the first 3 months. So that will be roughly $716.00 for the first 3 months. The good thing about the plates are each year your here and have a clean safe driving record you will earn money towards your plate. I know this does not help now but it will in the future.CATshaker Thanks this. -
When we first went to Mercer we kept our own for the first year......then when my renewal came up I compared cost and went on with Mercer's mainly for the ease of having it paid.
