V8-MACK, I'm sorry you had such a bad experience. Mine has been quite the opposite. Unless I have home-time, my miles have been acceptable(always want more, but I'm a little greedy).
For 2010, my monthly average was right at 11,000 miles per month. I do stay out for 3 -3 1/2 weeks at a time though, and almost never refuse to take a load if I have available hours. Since the first of the year, I have not had a check under 2500 miles unless i had days at home(most were more), and January was just under 12,000 miles in only 25 days. Some weeks do suck, but I just remember to look at the monthly average, because when I did have a slow week, the next week was usually a big week.
As far as communicating with people at Lincoln, I have had no issues at all. I usually just deal with my Fleet Mgr. or other people at my home terminal.
I realize there are always different experiences, just wanted to relay mine.

Well I am due to head for home time at the end of the week, and I'll take care of my DOT physical too. I've been with Crete for 1 year and I have no complaints. Looking forward for another year
-
NO COMPLAINTS!? That certainly won't make Big Al or Mack very happy.
evertruckerr Thanks this. -
I'm happy for him. All that really matters to me is that I have no complaints.
-
OK, What did you do to Al, this is an imposter that stole Al's login and password.
jdrentzjr Thanks this. -
Given your previous posts, could have fooled me. After all, this is the very point we've tried to get across to you. Soooo, welcome to our side.

I didn't know there were sides.
And I just believe in shining light on the darkness of a pile of steamy ########. The OTR industry is a complete piece of #### compared to what it was when I started 11 years ago. Driver's put up with way to much crap and allow themselves to be ripped off by their company, shippers, receivers, whatever.
I LOVED driving, but I was tired of having to constantly fight the exploitation. Theft of my time, theft of my money. With the exception of a few companies, there are no good places to work anymore. It's all about the bottom line, and companies don't care about drivers.
You go to a customer that makes you sit for 8 hours. You know you are gonna get some BS excuse later about how that company doesn't pay detention. Then the company has the nerve to give you grief because you are harassing the customer to load/unload you so you can get out of there before your 14 is up because the nearest truck stop is 30 miles away and you know some weenie in safety who has never even been in a truck is gonna ding you if you drive after your 14. Too much ########.
How's that for a run-on sentence?
-
Meh, Crete ain't too bad; happy with the miles and pay, benefits are on par or better. Sadly I've missed one too many important dates on hometime for me. I'm looking for other employment options now.
-
That's not a run-on sentence, that's the truth!
