Hirschbach, I work in the office. Last week they didn't really have anything for me to do so I got to pick up guys from the bus terminal and take them for preemployment drug screens. I also was taking the termed employees back to the bus terminal.
-
Not too bad I suppose sent a truck out west this week, what a terrible idea that was

cpape is macon ,ga too far away from you ?

Wesland24--I could probably make that work for an ind cont. Wouldn't work for a company truck.

My most senior driver made it back to work after being off for 4 months because of cancer. He is 72 years old and has worked for Pape Transfer longer than I have been alive. No light duty for him. He went right back to pulling an RGN hauling tractors. Good to have you back, Jim.
We are super busy and the guys are just hammering away. Now we have to make sure no one gets burned out. I would love to add ind contractors just about anywhere in the Eastern Half of the country. -
Meltom--what do you do at Hirschbach? How did you end up with a week of nothing to do?
-
Almost forgot--got the first of 10 Wilson step decks. Great looking trailer. Should be 2000 lbs lighter than our current steel trailers. Can't wait to get them on the road.

I work in safety, I've been creating a new training program for the dispatch team. After I present to the management team and they review it I usually have some down time. I've been finding things to keep busy and were slowly adding new tasks for me to do as we go on. My position is pretty much undefined so I get assignments from the safety director when he's not in meetings.
