1. Attention employers: We now require a valid DOT# for anyone wishing to post a driving position. If your job offer doesn't contain a DOT number, it will not get past moderation and will not appear in the forum. The other requirements in the sticky at the top of this section are still required as well. Thank you for understanding.

It's going to be hard finding much of anything. First, being 20 years old your restricted to drive intrastate - so you'll have to find something really local, i.e. dump trucks, contruction site type driving.

Secondly, most companies won't be able to put you on their insurance until your 23 (some 25). I don't think it's so much that you CAN'T be put on, I think they don't want to pay the premium $$...

I was in the same position. But I drove mainly dump trailers within the state for a smalll company. I'd drive out of state too (just the adjacent states), but it's stupid to do; if you crash, you'd be in serious trouble. I think as soon as you cross state lines your license becomes invalid.

Get some applications into companies like Southeastern Freight Lines, AA Cooper, Averitt, UPS, Sygma, Sysco etc... These companies have dock positions that can lead into driving positions. Check out Pepsi, Coke, and any other beer/wine distributors. They are usually self-insured and could possibly get you in as a driver or dock position that could lead into a driving position. Also, try Septic tank companies. Finally, contact the local fuel haulers. Some do hire recent truck school grads provided you can get a TWIC, Hazmat and Tank endorsement. Oh, some landscaping companies have Class B and Class A t/t as well as construction companies.
