You know? I was just going to leave it alone. You waited 18 hours between these last two posts to jump back on your soap box. (Here, lemme hold it for ya so's ya don't break your arse fallin off it.)

I actually agree with almost everything you say and, as I have said before, I do not wave my education like a red flag in front of a bull. And you are right about arrogance and snippiness. However. It comes from two directions. When you come up with "in all your years of experience" or some other such nonsense to make it appear another person couldn't possibly have a clue about something, it is no less a personal attack than someone putting you down for having less "book larnin" than another. It feels no less condescending and insulting. Which is why I point out there is more to life than driving a truck and all of us have other experience in life.

Never once have I mentioned my education in an attempt to make you feel inferior in any way. I am willing to listen to anyone with valid information until they make a lame attempt to sound "better" than someone else or try to put someone else down with a simple number count of experience years. I go after anyone who displays such arrogance and hubris. And I do it without mentioning education level. As I said before, it's nothing personal. It's a response to a presentation I do not agree with.

But, you couldn't just leave it be. Therefore, here I am. Don't like my word usage, vocabulary and grammar? Not my problem. And I am one of the first to go after someone who attacks nother member for spelling and grammar. It is my belief that regardless of capability with the written English language, nearly everyone has something to offer. And regardless of experience level moving a large vehicle across the countryside.

I fully expect anyone to point out the times when I show some arrogance. But...I defy you to find anywhere that I have attacked any person for having less years in formal education than I have.

(We actually agree on many more points than I believe you are willing to accept. Maybe because you believe I am not worth as much as you since the little number by my "Trucker?" question is "4" rather than "20.")

How about I make a deal with you: I'll park my 'tude if you'll park yours.

well Injun, I am not gonna be run off this site by you for saying something I shouldnt...nice try..I do agree with some of the things you say, how I feel about you has nothing to do with your lack of exp., what set me off, was when you said " I am bored with you" , I didnt sign up to be your entertainment, I understand that there is more to life than trucking..you seem to feel you have to prove yourself, and try to prove me wrong because I do have more exp., well you have exp. as an EMT..which I know nothing about...and even tho you seem to know a little about trucking , you still dont know some of the things I do, just like I dont know some of the things some of the ones with more exp. do., I dont feel I am better than you because I have been driving longer... I dont get all huffy because you have EMT exp. and I dont...or more of an education than I do.. you are the one with all of the arrogance trying to show everyone how much you know and what fancy words you can use...and yes there are a lot of drivers with a extended education, but come on, poeple in everyday trucking dont generally use the language you do...not that there is anything wrong with it, you have an education, thats wonderful..but you try to place yourself above the rest of us, with your words...I didnt start this, you did...when I made a post about newbies...you got all hot and bothered about it and from then on, saw then need whenever there was a chance to try and pick apart my comments...always throwing in your EMT exp...my hats off to you, I couldnt do that job...it def. takes a special kind of person to do that.....but it has NOTHING to do with truck driving exp. yeah the paths cross but thats about it .I am gonna leave this alone, not because you decided to strike a deal with me...but because it is going nowhere and I enjoy the site and dont wanna be removed.

i agree cabbage is no big deal... the problem is the first mile or isn't that steep so people that don't know better see that and go to fast then can't control it once you hit the 6% part...

i think the sign is under rated 35mph at 80k and never touch the brakes... i guess it pays to know your truck

Knowing your truck and your own abilities are the keys. Like my dad taught me, you can go down a hill too slow as many times as you want, but you can only go down it too fast only once.

so true!! Drivers fly by me all the time going down all the big grades...sure I can handle faster, but like I said before, you never know whats around that next curve...if there is a wreck around the next bend, can you get it shut down in time??? (not you personally)...if you are flying down the mtn..chances are ,NOT IN TIME...

    trucker_101 Thanks this.

that is very true and even more cabbage hill or any others here in the north west. we can run 105.500 and they go even slower and i can't see thru the mountain to see what is around that corner so slower is better for me

i can't count the times ive had to hit the shoulder for some one with brakes a smokein cause they under estimated the hill..

i guess some people think the signs are not right cause it doesn't "look" that steep..

but i know im going home to my family even if i get there 15 minutes later
