brian.. im currently sitting on 301 at the potomac river bridge at one of my favorite truck stops at the border of va/md....i delivered to Norton Wednesday and got a reload out of Lawrence, MA going to Sandston, VA... just curious whats after this, i #### sure aint going to have enough time to do a load out of Front Royal, unless its Jersey City.. my guess is either go to Toano and pick up at Lumber Liquidators and bring back to the yard, Go to NC and Pick up and bring back to the yard or just come back to the yard all together... it remains to be seen....

Hawk,
Kind of nice place up there in Lawrence Ma., plenty of parking and wide open spaces? WTF! Good luck with your repower. I'm curently in Harmony Pa heading to New Stanton, then maybe a repower in W.Middlesex Pa., then I'm outta here before the snow?
Be safe out there. -
Being in Harmony Mattaponi you are only 5 miles from my residence.
I take it you delivered to Sysco?
-
TDriver,
sorry but I was at Butler Meats, now at the Supervalu in New Stanton. -
i know of both of those places.

My fridge was pretty nasty, and I'm used to not having one anyway, so I never had any perishables. I had some OS&D soy milk though, so I cleaned the fridge as best as I could and fired it up. My sister drinks that junk.

Few questions about Van Wyk,
How much does this company pay?
Is it true that they pay % and not per mile?
I have 5 years trucking experience 3 OTR and 2 local will they count all 5 years or just the OTR exp?
Do they have APU's in their trucks ?
Finally how is the money per week? is it decent?
Thanks everyone in advance...

JohnOTR,
Yes, percentage based on experience, I think the top is 24%.
Not sure about the experience question, you can call on them on Monday
about that.
NO APUS, we have bunk heaters for the winter, and the AC is on you regarding idle time, fuel usage, bonus, etc.
The pay is decent enough, it averages between .35-.40 a mile. Hope that helped. -
nothing against van wyk..but i will stick with my company at 41 and apu where i dont have to worry about idle time...and we run most the same traffic lanes. van wyk does have some nice looking rigs

It's all good scottchris71, the whole mileage bonus & no APU really isn't that big of a deal to deal with. In the summer when you really need to idle you can crank out enough miles to wear it down and still make your numbers. @johnOTR I think we want people to have atleast 2 years of verifible OTR experience.
