Oh my goodness!!!!!! I've been gone for 2 days and I come back to this.:biggrin_2551: I would not, I repeat, would not under any circumstances continue to put up with this situation!:biggrin_25513: Those are deplorable, and unhealthy conditions. I wouldn't care who I pi##ed off, I would be calling and filling a complaint. Urine, and feces, come on, that is totally unacceptable. I hope you find a comfortable situation for yourself, because the one you're in is obsurd!

You heard wrong bud, to split your sleeper berth time, you need to:
Spend two or more CONSECTUTIVE hours in the sleeper or off duty. Four half hour breaks do not equal splitting your sleeper time. Then, you still have to log the rest of your 10 hour break, and watch your hours so you don't go over your 14 or 11. That's why I just log a straight 10, whether I actually sit for it or not (this is where LogsRUs should chime in, and give me a smacking!):biggrin_25525:

That's how you learn. Managing logs is a real 'balancing' act! Trade-offs, etc. And, many time to meets schedules or hit open truck stops, we drivers have to 'hold the bladder' (if in citys, etc.) or skip meals as only ways of managing the 14 hr clock!!:biggrin_25521:

One of these days you'll run across a cranky DOT officer that will want to give you a falsified log ticket. Because he knows as do every one else that you did not run 10 straight hours without stopping even once for a bathroom break.

There isn't any thing to be gained by logging that way. And its much easier on your body to run 4 or 5 hrs and take a break, run another 4 or 5 take another break even if its short and then finish up the day. Get out and exercise your legs. There is a driver on here that posted about his severe medical problems because he didn't get out and walk around enough.

Any time I read stories like this it just amazes me that someone would even have to ask if they should report it!?!?

Would you accept this behavior in an office setting or in an industrial plant or absolutely any other profession for that matter? NO - of course not. So why would anyone in ever even consider for one second that this guy (just because you are being trained) should not be reported!

And why would you be so close to him that he could get urine on you? It makes me gag just reading that! YUCK! After you kicked his *zz you should have been on the phone with the company.

People these trucking companies have time and money invested in you as a trainee. They want you to stay with them so they can recoup and hopefully profit on their investment. They're NOT going to endorse any trainer treating his student this way.

The bad thing is that they can't put an end to a situation they don't know about!

He'd be out walking while I was 'training myself!':biggrin_255: Unfortunately, bigger carriers never give the trainee the feeling (after getting in the truck!) that he/she is really valuable---they will treat you as a liability!:biggrin_25522:

No doubt!! I respect this individuals drive to get done what needs to get done, but there is certain common sense standards that have to be upheld. There's just a line in any profession that has to be drawn.:yes2557:
