In Chandler AZ tonight. Have a drop in Salem Oregon friday afternoon. I did the math last night after I repowered this load in Ft Stockton, TX. At 58mph, it will take 32.75 driving hours.
Not to worry! I have and extra 15 minutes to play with!
Ended up doing 656 miles today. I averaged 60mph. But that means Mother will have a talk with me.
However, since I started and never stopped, I guess I'll be ok. I even slid into the Loves here with more than two minutes to spare!
    Oh the love of trucking!

I knew there was something different about dispatch, just couldnt put my finger on it.Really crappy loads for myself recently.I had my worst week in three years last week, gonna follow it up with my best solo week in three yrs. this week.WTF.Sitting at the T/A in Paulsboro NJ waiting on a load out of Mullica Hill.Just ran 1800 in three days,300 today, followed by 1800 in three more days.Really tight on hrs.Ill run as hard as my 66 mph truck will go,and maybe get a few talks from mother myself Emulsified.I dont think I can make it,Ill run on 10 hr breaks for a couple, and see how close I can get and check my hrs.Im pretty good at stretching the log book, but this would have to be some rubber book to stay out of compliance on this one.Been in the rain up here for three days.I feel like a log, does the sun ever shine up here in the northeast.I would have to shoot myself if I lived up here.No offense to you yankees, but the weather sucks up here.know wonder the people are so rude up here.I would be too if I had to live in this overcrowded, rain and snow soaked cesspool.Im headed south, where the sun actually shines ever now and then.Everybody be safe.

And the kraft, waiting continues...was dispatched onto a load that was to be loaded today in Groveport OH, going to Dunn NC... then it gets switched to a load that is ready, imagine that, that goes to Aurora IL.... Arrive in Aurora, drop, and again, NO empties... won't be until later this evening... and dispatch won't even answer the phone today. Just voice mail. Talked to a kraft dedicated here, and he says this is standard operating procedure, for the last year. Never any empties, but dispatch insists you get one.

Either Stevens needs more trailers, or start charging kraft for using the trailers as warehousing, or charge detention pay for the driver having to wait for an empty.
I am on track for another sub 2500 mile week... and that is NOT acceptable.

Well after running 656 miles yesterday, figuring today's run, I would end up with needing to run 672 miles tomorrow to make delivery.
So I swapped loads with a team in Barstow and will deliver a load to Ralphs in Compton tomorrow morning.
Then a preplan has me picking up in Yuma saturday and heading to Dallas.
That means I get to goof off tomorrow afternoon in San Diego, see my son and his wife and enjoy this weather.
    Not a bad trade.
Haven't figured my miles. Transflowed around 3600 last week, have around 2,400 now ready to go.
Not complaining. These SW runs have been good to me.
Oh BTW, my younger brother was riding with me for about 10 days to 'check out' OTR. He was thinking he wants to be a trucker like his older three brothers.
This is the guy that use to play pro ball.
He left me the other day in Houston. Decided this wasn't his thing.
    waddayaknow!

5 hours, waiting, and watching to be able to grab an empty, and the QC beeps, with a load assignment, pick up in Morris IL... bobtail down... This looks good, and I am headed to Boise for a monday delivery. So I will have 2600 miles for the week... I will have 2 to 3 hours to spare on my log book, so I can't do much better. Will get to stop and visit friends as I travel into the winds of Wyoming.

2 hours waiting in line at the prologics.... took the guard 10 minutes to check each truck in. Then my loaded trailer was not to be found... finally found it, in a door, with a stevens truck setting in front of it... A grad fleet driver, he had reversed the last 2 numbers. So another 30 minutes wasted... oh well, I won't have to deal with weekend dispatch..

I have been to Boise more than Emusifed this year.:biggrin_25523:

seems like they have a block in the computers in dallas, to keep one away from the home area. Oh well, nice quite day, actual got to drive today, and stop at bosselmans in grand island for the night.. nice showers, a drivers lounge one can spend time in, and good food..

Now my new concern.. the new optistop tweeks they made, do not work for me. This load, suggestion is Loves, North Platte NE, 29 gallons, then TA Burns (cheyenne) WY, 165 gallons... Price at the loves, 3.889, Price at the TA 3859. Price at Bosselmans, 3.789, price at loves, Cheyenne, 3.829. It is sending me to the highest priced location in the area. Even with a 10% optistop discount, which it has not been lately, does not make up for the difference in the pump price.
And if I hit a head wind across nebraska, not like that will happen, I won't make cheyenne on the fuel stops they suggest.

Yeah, Nebraska is in a constant vortex, always a head wind. Someone with a degree in meteorology please explain that to us. There must be a truck driver with a that type of degree reading this as its as useful as a degree in history, I know, because I read this and can tell you what happened in Europe in 1762.

Yup, you're in Smokr territory. Aurora, Groveport and Morris all in the same week. And no trailers. You're getting the grand tour alright!
Have a family engagement Monday and Tuesday, so I'm stuck with an odd delivery in Ohio this morning, then a reset in KY today and tomorrow, then P/U in Louisville early Monday and home for two days before I take that load to Chicago. And lo and behold, weekend dispatch sends a preplan that picks up in Chicago Monday and delivers in Ohio Tuesday. Idiots.
