:biggrin_25514:That sounds like something I would do, my wife hid my ciggs when I was trying to quit and I was looking in the lawn after it rained for a butt..

One powerful tool you can use when quitting is to stay focused on whatever it is you are doing. If you are having a nicotine fit stop and try to determine what you were thinking about just prior to having the fit. You will find that your mind had wandered away from what you were doing and had slipped into either the past or the future. Get your focus back on what you are doing and the fit will soon pass.

    Well so far, so good:biggrin_25523:

Cheated once. I am using the nicotine lozenges. Im taking the 4mg and breaking them in half. It doubles the supply :biggrin_2556:

Breathing is already better. So I will be curious as to how much lower my BP will be at orientation next week! :biggrin_25522::biggrin_25520: Might try to "upgrade" my one year DOT for the two year!

You're doing great, just keep working at it. If you have a little slip-up, don't beat yourself up too bad. Just put it behind you and give it another shot, but WORK at it. Hang in there 'cause it's worth all the work to get where you're wanting to go. Good luck!

Interesting, the navy just banned smoking on all US submarines. They did allow smoking in one compartment at the back of the sub up until now. The navy is also paying for the patches etc to help the guys break the habit. They banned Chantix and the other one though... I guess the navy considers those drugs a problem lol

Well the FAA and DOT consider Chantix to be a problem. Neither are allowed by those to agencies any longer.

It's amazing how closely this advice parellels my own experience and the advice I have offered to others.
Find something to do to occupy your hands and mind for just a few minutes.
I too am, "just trying to see how long I can go without one." And it's been over 40 years, DON"T GIVE UP. it's good advice.

And don't EVER turn your back on it.

In other words...if you take Chantix...you can't land that 747 on the Interstate!:biggrin_25524:

    Good luck on the quitting!

    Personally....I quit ....quitting!

Right now I don't need another failed attempt...but I am succeeding at not quitting!:biggrin_25523:
