Launching in the morning!

Today I limped out of WV with 7.25 hrs and got to a new Loves on the border of VA/NC..Well got into a bad turn,misread the sign had cars turn sign and just below trucks..I thought they were pointing to same direction and its hilly so really couldnt see the difference.Boy was I wrong..It was a big driveway also so maybe it was a common mistake or only a newguy ##..Im going to say Im leaning toward newguy FUp..lol.The driveway went right up a steep hill which actually saved me.If I had made it up that hill there would have been hell to pay to get turned around.I ended up backing my axx right back down and out of it.Hairy would put it lightly.Lesson here,I make sure the turn I take is correct 1.These truck stops cater to 4 wheelers to so best make the truck turn.If anyone has been here its the Loves off I-77 in Lambsburg Va just shy of NC.I really wanted to get further but ended up driving 5 hrs and called it quits here.Partly because dispatch said another driver needed a van strap and I said Ill stop here..which turns out driver found 1 else where.The other reason was I dont really have to be anywhere till Monday.Preserve my hrs and am getting back 12 hrs tomorrow.Put the small numbers on the board and get the bigger back.Thats how I figure it anyways.Have 832 miles to Miami and should make it by Sun afternoon..I do have to pull my tandoms before I hit Fla. I have 2400 lbs to play with and should be fine..Crap I will have to reweigh load..I should of set the tandoms for FL to begin with.I need to remember set your tandoms for most restrictive state you go into..Jeez..Ok lesson learned..

Driving South on 95 today,had 2.50 hrs of drive time left and 43 miles to Loves I-95 ext 273 Ormond Beach FL.Got stuck in traffic and lost an hour plus there.Ok still have have an hr and 25 min left.My plan was to fuel if parking was available threre great.It was still before 5pm...Got off at ext and saw there was alot of bikers out,well ok just be real carful..I guess its biker week in Daytona Beach and this is spill over.I pull into Loves and see that they have opened parking to 4 wheelers and bikers and closed off all parking to drivers..Except for appx 4 spaces..I have now 46 min on drive time after dealing with biker traffic.I get around to fuel island and see a guy with a yellow Loves shirt and event staff logo.I tell him that I have very little time left on my 11 and his response is"Well you better hurry up and find parking"and could care less...I ask who the manager is and he proudly states that he is..I tell him as a place that caters to drivers their prioritys are Fuped.I also said that I would put a compliant in and he laughed and said call the owner somthing Love,they pretty much let this go on..I am really piss.ed off now..So before I reach out of my truck and end this mans life..I go and fuel..I have 46 min and I planned to make a rest stop 45 miles down the road,in case somthing well maybe not so bad as this happend.Loves was the last TS really for awhile and everything else was north of me.
So I pull out and the police are diverting traffic away from 95,no left turns.They divert me right and 20 miles to next entrance to 95..to the north.Which now puts me 63 miles from rest area...I am now in violation but safely parked for the night..I dont know if Loves is one of many places that shut parking down for the very people it claims to service or they are alone in this,all I can say is shame on them...To know what legal restrictions drivers are under and to claim to be of service to them and then close off precious parking to serve people that are not under any restrictions is shameful..
I understand this probably happens every year,but I can not be aware of every festival in this great nation of ours.I am not a biker,I am a driver and expect to roll into a "truck stop" and be taken care of.It would be one thing to see parking full of trucks but wow to close it to the very people you claim to service...I did not check to see if they were charging for the parking we need but it would not of supprised me.

 

Thanks yukon,it was a really good day other then that.I will get a complaint in.It is radically shameful to close off parking even if it it private property to people you claim to cater to.I roll into Miami tomorrow morning and have a day to spend with family and Roehl for the moment seems to understand my predicament.I will prob have to talk to my FM mon but like I said to after hrs dispatch my reponsability is to park in a safe and secure area,I have valuable cargo and can not and will not just park anywhere.If I get dinged for that,so be it..

 

I was on their website yesterday,had bad connection and paid for theirs.Did not see it.It is etched in my mind now though so no worries.
