Hello all my fellow truckers! I hope all is well with you. My name is Alex. For the past three years, my local high school has been working closely with an organization based in San Diego, Ca called Invisible Children. Their main goal is to end the on going war in Uganda. Joseph Kony is the main leader of the LRA (Lord's Resistance Army). He abducts children and takes them out of their towns. He uses them as child soldiers to fight and take over villages. His main goal is to overthrow the government. He uses the kids because he knows the government won't harm the kids. We are trying to raise as much money as we can as a school to become one of their "legacy schools." Any donations are appreciated. Anything you can give, even if it is $.50 will make a difference. You can make a donation at http://ic.stayclassy.org/member/ic-fundraising?fcid=21726

Directly from their website, "Invisible Children is a 501(c)3 public charity, as determined by the IRS, and we are independently audited on an annual basis. Our tax ID number is 54-2164338. All donations made to Invisible Children are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. A donation received through the mail or online will be followed up shortly with a thank you and tax receipt for your records."

If you are interesting in more information, you can visit their website at http://www.invisiblechildren.com/homepage.
Once again, thanks for all your help and helping to make a difference in the world.
    Alex

It's not that I dislike kids. I just think there more than enough kids right here in the U.S. that we need to help FIRST before we try and save the world. good luck.

Yeah, and the surest way to ensure idiocy is passed on to future generations is to do nothing about it now.

You should educate yourself on the genocide, the patricide, that is going on in places such as Uganda before you are so cavalier.

And no, I'm not donating either. I donate elsewhere here in the U.S. because we have plenty of our own problems but jeez-you dont have to be so ignorant.

Ugh...Working harder than we need to. I'm going back to school in June. For real this time. No more delaying. I think the hubby is finally ready to let me get off the truck. I asked him if he thought he would be alright without me on the truck and he said he guessed so since he did it alright before we met. I'm envisioning piles of dirtry socks, fast food wrappers strewn about the truck, and early morning calls to find out where something is at in the truck!
    :biggrin_2559:

Hope everything is well with you.

    25(2)+2 and Ducks Thank this.
