Sorry, I wasn't intending to bash Swift. I just figured people might ask what company it was for and I noticed it had the truck in the picture but didn't say anything in the article. It was just for the sake of more information.leannamarie Thanks this.

Thanks, and it wasnt directed towards you, i figured it was just what eventually comes after a Swift driver has a mishap. -
That is one of them stupid accidents that is going to cost that driver more than they care to know. That was a dumb/stupid mistake on his/her part--prolly was on the cell phone and wasn't aware of what he was doing. Its a very sad accident and very stupid one at that. People you gotta stop making these stupid mistakes--or you need to find a new career that you dont need to put much effort into.

The driver's moment of inattention cost someone else dearly. He or she will only lose a job and hopefully some sleep over this. The injured person (and family) has had thier lives changed forever.

Get in your truck, with your mirrors adjusted normally, and then position your truck within 5 feet or so of the trailer. Now tell me how much of the center of the trailer you can see... NONE.
I can almost guarantee this was one of those places that makes you drop your trailer and pull forward. Then they put a jack under the nose of the trailer while they unload it.
There is a paper mill we pick up at that uses this procedure. When they were done loading it, I went back to my truck, kicked the chock out from under the trailer tire, got my gloves... and for whatever reason, got sidetracked and forgot to remove the jack before I went to back under the trailer. Thankfully I don't back under a trailer like a yard jockey.
#### happens.rocknroll nik and flood Thank this. -
The driver obviously didn't wait until the guy and the trailer jack was clear... or perhaps started backing up before checking that there was a trailer jack in place?
Mousepal Thanks this.
