I know that route.....can't imagine pulling a 53' trailer through there.....i used to run a 28ft straight truck through there 3 days a week....in the daytime....and that was bad enough....we won't even go into trying to negotiate the alleyways in those little towns along the way even in that short truck making deliveries of sales flyers to the newspapers in every town up the road there.....a particular trip in february with ice on 52 comes to mind.....when the owner of the company (who also was the 'distpatcher') was told of the conditions he said 'run it anyway i'm under contract to make these deliveries'....of course, when I asked him if he'd ever driven a truck like that in those conditions before, he said "i don't have to drive, all i have to do is tell you where to go and sign your check".....needless to say, that was my last trip up there....or driving his trucks.....yes, you do NEED to use both lanes....which really sucks when there's oncoming traffic.....lol....i actually miss driving that little truck....it was non-cdl and alot of fun for a wannbe like me who soon will be doing it for real, but that road was no fun even in a smaller truck.....would have been alot more fun on the bike though i don't think i could have strapped all those sales papers on the back seat lol.....don't miss making that run....

If you had to use both lanes in a 28'er, you can imagine how much space I needed!...A few turns the guy guiding me said "put your left bumper as close to the left guard rail as you can, you're going to need all the room you can get"...Thankfully he was my eyes around the corner for oncoming traffic and the road was only wet with rain...

I threw it right into the mental experience file for sure!...

And I'm not saying it can't be done, there have been others before me for sure, I just think from a cost:profit:risk:reward calculation, it falls off the deep end...Some driver is going to have something bad happen to them and possibly lose their job, destroy a truck/trailer and/or hurt themselves or someone else...A smaller truck, or UPS, would reduce the risk considerably and this was all for 2 pieces of furniture, a minivan could have done it...I realize dispatch has no idea where they send us at times, it's all paperwork and numbers to them, which is fine, that's where their concern should be, moving the freight, it's up to us to communicate unsafe and potentially high risk situations...
