Prime's lease deal is great because you get to be home whenever you want. The only problem is, you'll go broke.
allycatt2 Thanks this. -
My best friend of over 30 years who works for Prime has made an enormous sum of money in the last five weeks. About $1,100.

He doesn't drink, smoke, or spend money on anything frivolous. He used to own a business.

He needed to be home for his daughter on a Friday afternoon. Prime had him home by Saturday.

Hometime policy for company drivers is earn 1 day per week out, out 3 weeks between hometime requests. Use 4 days at most per. Never had a problem getting home on the company side, and knowing how the shippers in your area work their schedules can usually get you a day or 2 more.
They get everyone home for at least one of the three major winter holidays - my guy always got me home for Thanksgiving and Christmas. I was deadheaded bobtail at company expense 300 miles one year - and paid for it. If you're on the road during those days, the company will pay for a holiday meal.
You earn 5 vacation days for every 125,000 dispatched miles.
On the lease side, since you order your own coming and going - you can take as much hometime as you like. Personally, I'll be taking next weekend off. -
His truck payments are a fixed cost at about $800/week.

What's the difference between IP and a recruiter?
NONE.allycatt2 Thanks this. -
Prime does not pay their trainees, the trainer does. That means Prime gets away with having team runs for 60,000 to 80,000 miles and the only one they pay is the trainer.

Before you go to Prime, ask yourself: Why do they have such a ridiculously high turnover rate?
allycatt2 Thanks this.
