All of the recent news on tailgaters (Drafters) prompted an idea in my little wooden head. :idea1:

Hey, maybe we can all get rich on this one, lol. If not, it might be interesting to see who can come up with the best bumper sticker or sign. One guideline though, the sign or sticker can't be offensive or threatening.

Here's a couple of my ideas for a bumper sticker, or sign, for the back of my trailer:

WARNING: IF YOU CAN READ THIS WHILE THIS VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, PLEASE DIAL "1-800-IMDONE4" ON YOUR CELL PHONE NOW!

    or;

WARNING: IF YOU CAN READ THIS WHILE THIS VEHICLE IS IN MOTION, PLEASE DIAL "1-800-MORGME" ON YOUR CELL PHONE NOW!

    What's yours?

I actually witnessed someone hit another car from the behind. And the reason being they could not get close enough to read the bumper sticker!
    Actual truth!:biggrin_2552:

LOL. I believe it, Cybergal! Good Point!

However, the Drafter is gonna be back there anyway, and just maybe we can communicate some sense to him and at the same time let him know its not only illegal, we don't sanction it. For example, one 4 wheeler’s post I read recently indicated he didn't really know if its was something that bothered Truckers and didn't even consider it illegal. In any event, should be fun making up stickers anyway.

Go ahead Cybergal, give it a shot!:smt072

"If I stepped on my brakes while you read this, you'd be dead!" - in 1 foot high letters on the back of the trailer.

Of course it wouldn't do anything for the approx. 20% illiterates in this country, but you can't please everbody...

i have two led light signs on the back of my trailler both for high beems at night
the first one says PLEASE TURN OFF YOUR HIGH BEEMS
the second one says OKAY I WARNED YOU ONCE
then i usually get them to turn them off by then
both are controlled by switches on my dash... pretty clever

Oh dear! Will you be needing Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, as well as miscellaneous Eastern European and former USSR dialects too? :biggrin_25521:

Dang! I like the LED idea much better than bumper stickers or signs Truckinpa16. Excellent idea! I'm sure they are programable from the cab and can be edited to fit the circumstances.

See what I mean? You already improved on my original idea, you guys are gonna make me:tongueSTARS9:.... errr I mean... :smt103we are all gonna get rich. (LOL)

Also, the LED idea solves the other concerns regarding the language barrier. Still haven't figured out how to deal with the 20% illiterates yet, though. Was considering exhibiting flintstone type pictures for them. Any ideas?

I think that maybe some high beams mounted on the back of the trailer might get the word across. Let them see what it's like to be blinded...(no pun intended)
