First, everyone knows about all the trucks out there and for it too be a "favor" it would have to included enough for a 1000 mile dead head out of there. I have turned down more "favors" then I have taken and I have never had a problem. Trust me I maybe a "good ole boy" but I aint a Mercer good ole boy.

Second, while you were out there for two weeks how many loads were you offered? If the answer is zero then you really need to retink your preferences. But by your previous posts I will take it that it does not matter anymore since your going home and sending there over priced tags back.

Third, You said that there was six month of good loads and six month of bad loads and considering we are almost thru the slow season I don't think i need to go any further there.

Fourth, I want to wish you luck in the future. There are very few people I hate too see go down in flames cuz I have had to jump out of a few fires of my own and it is no fun. But remember you can bash a company all you want but when it is all said and done you and only you decide what direction to point that truck in.

A total of 4 posts & they are all quoted above!

Looks like another one bites the dust & wants to blame Mercer for their failures. Sorry bud, the only one to point fingers at is yourself.

i ask again totem, have you been running any of the west coast regional stuff or just sitting wainting on a east coast run?

have you been offered anything? give more explanation than just "dont lease to mercer"

shadowed, i am new here to mercer and were told to call on arrival at customer and when empty, maybe a new change in things.

i been doing all right, have no complaints. just getting all the startup costs covered and everything will be fine i think.

as far as why I posted several times,,,, was trying to answer another drivers question and I am new to the website.......didn't realize it was already posted........ And maybe before someones calls me a failure we need to compare financial statements.............. I am just not staying with a company that doesn't care how long someone sits as long as the good ole boys are taken care of......... and check the price of an illinois irp tag..........it ain't 2100 dollars

Things have been slow in Commiefornia since last October-ish.

I was home for 2 weeks in February doing truck repairs and stuff. Got empty at Ft. Irwin on 3rd, and I didn't come back on the road until 16th. As of 14th, I was still #7 on load board.

And people in Stockton office know me well. I'm their local, met all 3 of them in person, and have done a favor or two (taken some local hot loads nobody wanted). But I was still #7 after 1.5 week at home.

Maybe those "good ole boys" are on western board? When I sat in Ontario last October, I was #60-something on Fontana board, but I was #2 on western. I was able to grab a Seattle load (which you stated you don't do) ahead of others waiting for east coast loads.

My tax guy added up my deduction from last year. It came out to around $2,150.

This year, I opted to just write a check instead of getting money deducted from my settlements. It was $1,525 with my performance/safety bonuses from 2010.

I'm sorry things aren't working out for you. I don't know you and I mean no disrespect in any way, but a couple of things.

Anyone who's been with Mercer for a year knows things are really bad in CA right now. If not, you have to do your due diligence and know it. All you have to do is check the load board. I still look at available freights in various states when I'm sitting, not just where I am at. And from CA, it's a long ways out to a decent area as all neighboring states suck just as bad.

Keeping those in mind, you can't just do them a favor and take a load to CA when you know you have to get back home in east for whatever special ocassion you missed. Ultimately, it's your responsibility to tell them NO.

You might need some attitude adjustment. Mercer works for you, not the other way around. It is your business operation, and you tell them what to do. Some coordinators like to treat you like an employee. If he/she doesn't like being told what to do, you fire him/her and get another one.

Any of you guys had to replace their cb coax? I'd like to know how I can run this cb coax to the antenna-without running it through the weatherstriping. Thanx.

Well thanks for the advice but when you are told that if you take this load and they will get you back out......What am I to exspect...Their lying.....I rolled into cali with drivers coming on loads from the east......they already had loads takin them back east;;;;;;;I guess I'm guilible.....want to believe the people working with me are honest....I know now they are not..........I watched multiple loads pass me by to teams......that were in no way just a team load.......other guys coming in from the east already dispatched.........even my coodinador admitted there are loads he could see on his loadboard that never show up on the contractor board.......they are given out after 5pm eastern......... a captured truck they like to call it........ but thanks I've learned a very exspensive lesson.......don't believe louisville.....ultimately they just want to cover a load anyway they can and there is always more trucks coming on in orientation.....just a numbers game to them
