Hi I just finished C1 in Springfield on 3/4/11 and should be going out with a PAM trainer on 3/14/11. My husband will be coming over after I finish with my trainer to team. Does PAM only have automatics or can we request cluth? We both drove before just let our license expire after getting out of the trucks in 05. He will be coming over as an experienced driver. If anyone has any tips feel free to partake :)

Last I knew it was all automatic except for the trainers, who got the new 10 speeds. I worked for PAM last year and had no real complaints except for the pay. Everything the recruiter told me was true. Deliver your loads on time, keep a good attitude and you will do OK. You will not get rich and you will seldom be home but you will do OK. I am actually thinking of going back to PAM since I miss being out on the road.

I'm going to be finishing up the application process with P.A.M.. I've been keeping contact with my recruiter. I let my CDL expire in 2005 so I have to go out with a trainer also. My question is how long is the OTR training with a trainer?

After orientation, do they send you home to wait on a trainer?

I m a recent grad from c1 trucking school in fort Wayne , I have signed on with Pam .This Friday i find out when to expect my trainer .I heard all kinds of good things and bad things about Pam .I just have so questions and was hoping you all could answer them for me. 1) How long are you out with you're trainer before you return home?2)what's the next step after you're done with you're trainer . I heard something about an orientation what happens there?3) I have signed on for team how bad is it running teams?4) How old is the average tractor?

Hey jjkory, when did you finish at fort wayne? I finished a week ago this last monday and left on wed. I was in room 116 at the great hallmark Inn lol I also have to call pam on friday, my room mate travis left with his trainer yesturday. Got a call from him today and things seem to be going great. He told me after about 28 days, give a day or 2 either way he has to return to the ohio terminal to test out. He said theres a written test and a 15 or 16 mile road test.

I was the big guy that you kept saying to that you were going to steal my nice comfy chair from my room lol Hey do you know if Carlos(The older guy who always for the fatigue jacket) passed before you left? And how about STINKY FEET? lol Im sure he never finished and probably never will, that was one non driving person lol

Hey Josh & Tom, John here. I've heard Carlos did finally pass. Swift-bound, I think. I should find out tomorrow morning what the next step is for me. Probably getting into a truck, but no idea what the details will be. I'll keep you posted. (BTW, even Eric passed, from news I heard. I'm here in Dayton with Alex and Mike from the previous class.)
