    If you can't read the pic it says 1100-1200 4" 1000-1100 5" 900-1000 6" But like I said in my other post spydur each truck can vary on the slump readings so you need to ask your batchman or another driver who knows them trucks and find out what they are for sure. Also mud can vary from state to state so it could be different.

    Check to see what the what the brand of the Gage is. And look it up online.
    We did not use one at all. We set all slumps by sight.
    All went into the truck pretty stiff so we could wash in. Then we would bring it up at the washin pad.
    And adjust on site as needed. Got pretty good at it after a while.

    On the revolution counters I saw you mention somewhere.
    Some states use them and others do not.
    I live in NY. And we had to have a set number of mixing revs and no more than a set number of total revs when we got to the jobsite.
    This was for state work only.
    Also slumps had to be very very close when we got to the site. They would not let us add more than a set number of gal's of water to the load while on site.
    If you went over. Or you could not reach slump with the max given. The load was rejected.

    Another thing is to make sure you know your truck as far as the water goes. You need to know how long to open the valve when putting water into the mix, my truck I count 3 seconds for 1 gallon of water, on another truck (same brand as mine) its 1 second for 1 gallon of water.

    Hey notarps was gonna ask you the other night but forgot. They put the slump breakdown in your trucks down there or is that something your plant has? Would be nice to have that in the trucks for when you have to drive one with the other style meter cause I'm used to the oshkosh kind.

    All the guys working for us are 25 and up to 65 years old no college kids all have family and homes. Not really a no brainer job if you want to keep your job, because around here if more than a couple contractors complain about you, you aren't gonna have a job to long. It may be different in other areas but not here, especially running a front discharge the driver controls how much mud is laid out in the form. Some of the contractors will get really mad at you if you put to much mud in there, shoot when I first started I laid it about an inch to high and next thing I know he's throwing his mag right at my window...... Ahh good times in the mixer..... To be responsible for a 100k dollar plus truck and if fully loaded over 1k in the mix they don't want idiots driving these trucks.

    They come with the trucks. Some of ours has them some don't. We slip seat a lot. I have noticed a difference in the drums on some of them. I think that the design of the fins has a lot to do with the slump. Some of ours are exact except for the fins and there is a difference in the slump.

    Ahh ok yeah we got 11 different trucks never seen one of them before but half of ours are gliders so that could be why. I know most of our trucks have a slightly different fin design cause they are a few years aparts in age, guess that could be why all our trucks are different on the gauge.

    Here's a picture of the slump meter on my truck, this is in an 05 Oshkosh these are the ones that will be in most if not all Oshkosh's. 1,100-1,000 is 4inch 900-1,000 is 5inch, and 800-900 is 6inch. These are the most common slumps you will use day to day. But I'm sure you will get to do curbs after a while an I usually get it to 1,900-2,000 on my gauge for a good curb mix.

    I hate curb mix on a hot sunny day. Correction, I hate curb mix on any day.

    I hate curb period, seems every time I get sent to the curb machine I get every single radius in the tightest corner with all kinds of crap in the way.
