Don't know if you ever made it Joe, but if you did sorry I didn't get to meet you. Had to leave early to pick up the wife and head to Vegas to meet a friend.

Yea, that's what Trill had said. No worried, I made it in a little later than I planned, too. Maybe next time, lol.

I believe everyone will be at the DMV for testing on Monday (I heard we're taking all three trucks). Not sure when we're supposed to be back.
I can't help still being stressed about testing. I am capable of doing the skills, although I still have problems with the alley dock and probably always will. My first instinct is to do it the (wrong) way I learned, THEN to second-guess myself and try to do it the right way that I learned later. *sigh*
My mother says not to test at all tomorrow. Joe says not to do the driving test. I need a drink-- or two. -
Well, the only other instructor I know is Gil, unless there is someone else that's new since I've been around there. Last time I stopped by was in late September, so the faces could have changed.....
Keep trying Tril....I know you can do it. You seem to have the drive to succeed, so I know you will get it! -
Well did you pass yet Trilleth

Trilleth Thanks this.

Hopefully, I will see her this weekend in Missoula.

I'm sorry for being quiet.
I went to the DMV yesterday morning. Had a slight problem with my parallel (truck got stuck in a rut), but didn't lose any points. Moved on to the alley dock... and failed. I don't even know how I end up failing so miserably, unless the difference between practicing in the dirt yard and doing it on the asphalt DMV test area is so significant. Whatever it is, unfortunately, I didn't pass with flying colors-- or at all. I won't be in Missoula this weekend.
I'm really fortunate Joe was around this week or I might have had it rougher than I did. It was still tough.
Joe has convinced me to not give up. I'm going to go back to the DMV tomorrow and re-test to open my permit. Then I'm going to retest the pretrip and brakes. I am, fortunately, not worried about those. Then I'm going to practice the alley dock as much as I can at school and practice with a toy truck when I'm not at school. Whatever it takes, I will pass it.
I'm done giving up. I will probably never have to do something like this alley dock again... so I just need to do it /good enough/ once. I don't know why that maneuver has such a mental block on me when everything else comes easily, but it can be overcome. -
Too bad about the alley dock, but I'm glad to hear you are done giving up! I'm sure it's a mental block, since you are able to maneuver the truck otherwise, I'd guess by now it's mental....You WILL get it, and then after that, you can have as many pull ups/GOAL's as you want or need.
Take care...
