If everything else has been going well with his training he will have no worries about still having a job. Students and trainers don't always 'mesh' and Stevens has no problem with switching trainers if need be. I just finished training a few months ago and several of my 'classmates' had to swap trainers more than once to find one that worked. As for being 'stuck' at Little America, he has to consider the vast number of drivers that Stevens employees and the number of students that each of the counselors are in charge of. It simply takes a lot of patience and perseverance to get through to them. If I had trouble getting through to my counselor, I simply called one of the others, all of the extensions were provided to every student. I hope by now he has been routed back to Dallas, or another trainer has picked him up, since you haven't bothered to update.

Your not very bright are you, most of the trucks on the yard are there because the drivers have to have a 60 to 80 day safety meeting.they have to hit the yard at least once every three months. Some drivers such as myself live in the DFW area. When on time off, where do you think the trucks are gonna be parked,at the local walmart,LMAO.Actually at this time there is a shortage of trucks for the new drivers.Only a certain number are given trucks each week.So you have a 2000 truck fleet, mandatory yard timr for the drivers ,and you only see 60 trucks, how many of those trucks do you think are actually empty.Do the math, geez.likmold Thanks this.

Sorry, thought I did update. Must have been on the other board. He has a job. A driver should be picking him up tomorrow to take him back to Dallas. Is it normal for trainers to leave the trainees anywhere they feel like? I have heard of another company who does this regularly....

Really? Lets see, I was a dispatcher for Stevens and a Driver as well. Went back to my other career, Airline pilot. I have drove for 2 years with one other company. I have a Bachelor Degree in Logistics. I guess you are right Mr. Stevens I have no clue how the industry works. How much does Stevens take out of your check for training? Stevens can be a good company for some and not others. Good luck to you Hand.

We did have that problem as well. Then we went to the counselor at school where he trained. Stevens took the unemployment info for the last 2 years and he got in. Took a few hoops, but it worked.
Apparently they have to verify your where-abouts for the last 3 years to get a job. Having unemployment proves where you were, for the most part. -
I totally agree! There are so many people who have lost jobs in the last few years due to economy. I thinks it's pathetic that companies do that crap. Here is someone who wants to work but yet company penalizes people for losing jobs beyond control. When are these idiots ever going to wake up & realize that if they don't hire people then then economy will never improve! If people don't have $$ they won't spend, therefore this crap economy will stay like it is.
