i am no mechanic, so i may explain this wrong...lol but we drove a cascadia last year, that has extra batteries that charge while you are going down the road..then when u stop , they are sup to be able to run ur stuff. (outlets , heat , air etc) for 10- 12 hrs without the truck running...it worked, but not very well...if it was real hot or real cold...it didnt work well enough, but as long as the temps werent extreme, it worked ok...Bumpy Thanks this.

Back in Dec I was in Billings Mt for 4 days temp was 5 degrees.. after leaving I got a phone call from my FM about my iding being too hig 78% idle time. Last I heard the company had a policy that 20 or below you do not shut the truck off for extended periods of time. Anyway about 3 weeks later I was in Olive Branch, Ms for 4 days. The temp was still cold even down south(especially this winter) My truck was in the shop those 4 days and I was in the motel. After I got the truck back out of the shop and got my next load my FM sent me a message(not a phone call this time) that I was doing much better on idle time that week and to keep up the good work. Somtimes you just gotta say hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. LOL
