I have been OTR and am now working local but miss the road. I want to go back OTR and am thinking about US Express. Can anyone that's been there a while tell me what it's really like?

No offers yet huh? Let me take this time to explain why I seem to be all over the forum today. I had home time scheduled for 1/4 in TN. for Dr appt. On 12.28 they sent me to Billings, MT and sat me for 4 days even though I reminded them of the appt. So I rescheduled the Dr appts for 3/21 and set my home time for 3/20. Today is 3/19.

I picked up a load in Sikeston, Mo. last night that was supposed to del this morning at 10 in London, Ky. I had 1 hour remaining on 70 after loading and told them this. I am on elogs. After loading they asked if I could del on time. I had already told them no but repeated the previously given explanation. hmmmmmmm The best I could promise was 1600 today. That was not good enough so they scheduled a RP. The RP truck showed # 05:30 this morning. and left # 06:30. I could have legally left at 05:30 but do not like to do a split sleeper so was not planning to leave until 07:30. Anyway the RP truck was BT.

So now I sit in Charleston, Mo. at the Pilot with no wagon and have reminded them I am 200 miles from my home time tomorrow and no word from the weekend FM as to what they are doing. He just asked me to send a valid PTA. Seems that after the RP they set my PTA for 4/15/11. I sent it in for 10:30 this morning and it still shows 4/15/11 now at 1 PM.

Let me add here something about running for USX. I live in Smyrna, Tn. (just outside of Nashville on I-24). I am rarely in the state of TN. I will run all around it but not cross the state line. I have been in a lot of terminals lately, due to recurring breakdowns and it seems that all the northern drivers are sitting in the southern terminals when freight is slow and all the southern drivers are up north. I don't have any idea why they do this.

In my 40 years of trucking I have learned that loads through Tn on both I-40 and I-24 are difficult to avoid as both are major corridors. But they manage to keep me away from Tennessee and do not easily get me there for my scheduled home time.

Just got a ppln for e st louis to clarksville, tn. delivers between 0800 and 1600 monday. my first of 4 VA Dr appts that day is for 0830.. this will be fun. I just sent them a reminder message will see if they pull it or dispatch me.

    Hope this helps.
