Yes, back in the day things were different.

The Lt just got killed? Promote the Sgt.

We used to build houses and septic systems without permits.

I used to be able to fix my own car without using a computer. I'd tune the engine by ear.

As Nana has said: welcome to the now. We don't get to turn back the clock because it suits us. Believe me I would if I could. I'd love to walk without a limp or wake up not in pain. This is the now. Grow up, Cowboy up (or girl) and deal with it.

Bottom line is the spirit of entitlement. People with the spirit of entitlement believe all things are due them simply because they exist.

Our society is mass producing people with the spirit of entitlement so I'm not sure that we can actually blame hoobilly completely. Perhaps if he buys the money pit, finds he can't get it running, can't get loads, and goes financially belly up he'll mature and lose some of the spirit of entitlement. I hope so. I think he's actually bright and witty. I do like witty people.

    So sayeth Princess Drives-A-Lot!!!

Grandfathered in means they were previously operating trucks, had experince that was verifiable, and already had "chaffeurs" licenses, which was a catch all special license that allowed you to operate things other than regular cars.

"The system is rigged so that you fail"

"Company's want you to fail to keep new drivers walking through the door so they don't have to pay experienced truck wages."

    http://www.youtube.com/user/TruckerDesiree

Just watch her videos and you will see why I'm reluctant on signing a contract.

I can hack it as a trucker, I know I can or I wouldn't try. However I know there is a lot of people that can't and wash out and then they are stuck with that 8,000 tuition bill and are victims of the TRUCK DRIVING SCHOOL SCAM.

I'm trying to avoid getting put in that situation.

Ok, I'm done here, my time is more valuable than this. This guy wants training for free, a truck for free, and already has some conspiracy theory going on in his head, along with the rest of the party in his head.

Ya'll have fun with this - he's not growing up, and no one can make him.

Some company's may fall in that range. Most dont. It cost them money to train you. Probably more than what they pay experinced drivers(trainers time, insurance ect) So I dont buy that.
Pepole are getting into this feild of work because they are hireing. Have no clue on what the job is. Then cant handel not sleeping in there own bed at night, or the stress of the job. Then they screw up and get fired, and the company is out all that money they spent trying to train this person plus what ever damages (freight, equipment, property, or life)
