I had a tire shop destroy one by not having it flat against the front drum before using the air wrench.. they said "Ooops...sorry!" but never replaced it.

  5. I went to using the Centramatics after knocking my wheel weights off every few weeks. Run US 69 through OK and you'll know what I'm talking about. I run that truck damaging piece of bovine excrement every night.

My grandpa used to tell me about running golf balls in the tires, so the Centramatics made sense.

Put them on. Can't hear them (probably because I've got a noisy old '96 Cat), but I know that I get 250,000 on a set of steers, and my truck drives like a new Cadillac. Shoulda' been running them all along.

I'd like to try the ones for the drive axles, but haven't yet.

I like Centramatics, but I was forced into using them. As it turns out, I wish I had always been using them. They honestly save me lots of money on wheel balancing. I also can say without any doubt, that my tires NOW wear perfectly even until they need replaced. No river wear, no cupping, no bouncing, or any other uneven wear. I'm running Michelin XZA3's, BTW.

Thanks for that, freedhardwoods. I've been debating w/ myself which way to go. That works for me. 10 yr warranty beats a 5 year anytime.

Of course I have never heard of a Centramatic failing or 'suddenly' going bad. So consider that....

I guess I would look at price too. If the 10yr warranty ones are more $ then that's a consideration too. Personally I use Centramatic but have no opinion either way. I think the Centramatics are more well known but that doesn't necessarily mean anything.. :biggrin_25525:

I know this is an an OLD thread, however, I just had all 3 axles done at SPEEDCO for $185 per axle.
