I started elogs in October. Can't compare it to paper since I never used paper logs other than in training. I can say, I am doing at or above 10000 miles per month as a solo, all legal.

Within 5 miles of every weigh station, someone is on the CB asking if the station is open. Those guys are not worried about their weight, they are worried about their logs. I don't have that problem.

Conway is in the process of converting all drivers to elogs, and newbies like me come in using them from the gitgo. I wouldn't worry so much about elogs...if you haven't heard, all companies will be going to them except for the very smallest ones.

When I was looking to get started I compared the cost of education, to the 1st year payback. I was only concerned with the first year because, after a year, I could simply go to the highest paying if it wasn't Conway. (that included going to their recommended school in Neosho and paying for room and board!) Conway won out without even thinking twice. Now, I eliminated some good companies because of that, but haven't looked back.

As I went through orientation I noticed a high percentage of people with less than a year of experience and rehires. All of them worked for those other companies ended up at Conway or back at Conway so, I did pretty good on my first try.

Follow my posts (journal) on the thread called "Crowder to Conway to Finishing" on this site.

    Good luck!

Yes and no(ive been here 10 years) been on Elogs 2 months, now they have to run you legal(no exceptions) and sadly Joplin has not got up to speed yet(its all about the load 1st in importance, your paycheck 2nd)

We have all been at or near 10000 miles per month since the merger(its a Conway Thing, your truck is "budgeted" on 10,800 miles per month) and lately i have seen where Elogs are cutting into that

Elogs: In a nutshell i actually like the logging part, its the running part that is a lil hard to overcome as we can no longer run like we have been used to all these years(system doesnt Allow for that)

Planning your day is the most important thing, but with Joplin still managing your truck "on the Fly" that is where they will have to change.

We have what we call "hand-helds" at Freight that we use for all dock and P&D work - word is everything from our logs to paid time will be done and calculated using these in the near future. I'm all for it myself.
