Hey everybody! Checking in since I now switched to Verizon and the mobile hotspot on my phone is fantastic. I am in Hope Hull, AL at the flying J for the night. Delivering in Union City, GA on the 21st. Yeah..... lots of time on this run... Which has been happening a lot more lately.... sitting on loads for a day and a half or more. I am on Pre-Alliance although I will not be following through with signing a lease. Did the numbers, weighed in the benefit/hassle ratio and the program is just not a good fit for me. Not saying its a bad program, just not a good fit for me. Just going to get my seat time on company side. Still rockin the non-apu truck lol! Hopefully will be getting a new truck eventually with an APU. The transmission is getting harder and harder to get out of gear. Have had 2 clutch adjustments so far and they have really made no improvement. According to road rescue, "the clutch is on its way out" so great! They said they will notify equipment because of the age of the truck and get me into another truck ASAP... riiiiiggghhht. Been pretty uneventful so far, been doing the same circle for a while now. DFW, Denver, Meat Patch, NE, SE, somewhere in TX. Rinse and repeat lol! I hope everybody has been staying safe and getting good miles. I can't complain really but I'm not ecstatic either. Right down the middle with my experience with Stevens. Better than terrible I guess. Later all!

Well stupid California road conditions report! Got the ok to hit Donner pass, no chains required just had to have them with ya. No problem, got the chains and headed up the pass. Along with 4 other Stevens trucks. No signs flashing saying chains required, nothing what so ever. Got all the way to the ag check point and this DOT guy yells and says what tires have to be chained and then just turns around
I said excuse me what was that, then he YELLS it again. I said but the Cal report says no chains and no signs said chains required and we do not chain up. He said well then turn around and go back to Reno. And he was not very nice! I said look man I have never done this before, where can I turn around? And he of course YELLS and says real fast where I can go. (Boy I would have liked to tell him where to go!)
So I finally got turned around and headed back to Reno where I am camped out now.
Contacted Stevens and they acnowledged that they did this to me and many others and to just park it and wait for a repower or wait until thy can find out when no chains will be needed. Hauling a load of beef so I'm sure I will probably get repowerd first. They got a few mmbers of the chain gang hauling trailers over so am sure to get hooked up with one of them. What a day! -
About in the same boat. Camped out in Lake Point UT at the TA. Supposed to drop in Grantsville, UT but the winds have been kickin up every time the appointment rolls around. Sent in to have it set for tomorrow when things are calm but no response. So here I sit until I can get in when it's convenient for everyone involved

Still sitting in Reno. Sounds like bad weather until Tuesday they say. Still waitting on a repower. Got a message about 3am asking what our plan was? Haha well don't you think we should be asking you this?
Well they sent a message back saying they will try and get something figured out. Meat will only last so long! Steaks anyone??

Picked up my load in Amarillo last night, made it to Gallup. Leaving at 1600 and will make it (hopefully) to Golden Acorn Casino for next 10. Then drop in downtown San Diego (who scheduled a 53 in THAT place!), second drop tomorrow evening in Anaheim.
Tried to get them to reverse the sequence so I could have the night in SD and visit friends and family, but I guess I just get to visit Goofy instead.
Good luck on that pass! -
Resteraunt depot/jetro cash&carry? I had a delivery in downtown san diego for that place. It was unpleasant getting into the dock. And there is no real truck parking back there
. But they are quick to unload atleast.

In Fairburn, Ga about 3 miles from my drop in Union City. There was so much time on this load.... I picked up Friday afternoon in Houston at the WW Rowland yard and took my sweet ### time because my DM said a repower won't be available. Receiver only takes deliveries M-F. Guess I will just hang out and go to this nice looking restaurant across the street. Kinda curious where I will go from here. I bought satellite radio and set it up out of boredom. Got it on sale for 40 bucks. SO that will provide some entertainment. I must say it makes the miles go by a lot better! Stay safe all! Good luck with the Donner situation Nighthawk!

got to love the weekend crew...
started my day at 0400 log time, to make my delivery in upper marlboro by 7am...
in an industrial area, that has been placarded with no parking signs... now that really makes sense...
So I park in the street, and check in, just as the sign on the gate informs me too.
Takes about 4 hours to get 800 boxes of pork unloaded, all on slip sheets, but they don't have the equipment to unload, so they hand unload... leaving behind the 24 cardboard, and 24 plastic slip sheets for me...
So back out on the street, to park beside a no parking sign...And watch the local cop drive by and log truck #'s.
So I call Dallas, hoping to get a load, or at least a direction to head....
Boy was that a waste of time... and rude, tells me he does not care which way I head, as the dispatcher for that region works from home on the weekends, and he can not contact him....
So after being parked in a no parking zone for an hour, and seeing the cop headed my way, I pick a direction, wrong of course.
Only get 10 miles down the road when the QC beeps, pick up in Harrisburg VA... #### I would have never guessed that direction... 1600 appt... 170 miles 3 hours to get there... now the delivery is 400 miles north, for 0700 monday....
Not gonna happen...
Inform stevens via QC, I will pick it up, but there is no way for me to legally deliver.
Answer, send a repower request...
I have....
So I am in toms brook VA on my 10 hour break... can be in cleveland OH about noon monday to start my deliveries, that are at 0700, 0900, and 2215.... great schedule there too.
No repower, no info....
just silence.....
Got to love the weekend crew.....
or else one just might want to send a big blue torpedo through the glass windows.
Hope all of you stuck on donner are having a wonderful fun filled day. -
We have a weekend crew?
I tried to get my appointment rescheduled yesterday for this morning and never got a response. Sent it in the QC and nothing. So apparently nobody that could pick up a phone to call WM was working. But somebody was nice enough to cancel my preplan. I just don't have the heart to call all of this in lol. I talked to WM and they would gladly take me whenever, I just have to have an appointment set.
Oh well, just another day at the office.
