Went into a Waffle House in Slidell LA back in 1987 and we were the only non truckers in the place. My son was 6 at the time and got so freaking excited about all the trucks that he couldn't hardly eat. We had 9 different drivers let him get up in their trucks then made him pick his favorite. He chose the woman driver's truck because "she's the prettiest". The male drivers thought that was the funniest thing.
We never knew who bought our breakfast that day but it was my son's favorite part of the entire vacation. LOL

My wife and I used to stop at Waffle House a lot. But so many of them got to the point that they were full of nothing but drunks and tweakers at night, so we haven't tried one in a long time.

Question:
What do you call a room with 32 teeth in it?
Answer:
A full Waffle House crew! -
Waffle House in Modesto and Ceres here in Nor Cal
-
Waffle House is best around 2-3am on a Friday or Saturday night. Yup, when the drunks have left the club and need something to eat before going home. I used to hit up the one on the beach 5 miles from where I live. After a certain time all the tourists have gone to bed so it's just a few of us locals hanging out and talking. I loved talking to the people working there.
Maybe I'll go back one night when I'm home again.... -
got to have them smothered, covered, chunked and peppered

all right lets get the joke right..
First I live in Ga and we have a Waffle House on every exit...and some exits have one on each side so you dont have to cross over...

What has 6 legs and 3 teeth...
The night shift at the waffle house..outerspacehillbilly Thanks this. -
The novelty wears off when you have 73 of them within 10 miles. Trust me.

They're ok, but I liked them better when they were cheaper. The prices have really shot up. Or maybe I'm just a cheap #######. -
We have 2 of them here in Delaware and they are expensive. I miss the old prices when I could eat breakfast and have a cup of coffee for under 5 bucks.

There is a Waffle House in S.E. Louisiana off 1-10 at exit 182 (Sorrento or Sunshine Bridge exit). Heading from Baton Rouge south east towards New Orleans. The Sunshine Bridge crosses the Mississippi River to the east bank.
There is a small local truck stop, Sorrento Super Stop with a Subway in it. It also has fuel islands and a scale. Right next to the truck stop is a Mc Donalds. And just passed the Mc. Donalds is the Waffle House.
Across the steet is a place called Speedy Junction that has a lunch buffet and great food at cheap prices. Not a typical buffet as you tell the girl behind the counter what you want and they fix it in containers to go. There are a few booths where you can sit and eat at. Example: Our favorite is 2 Slabs of filleted fried catfish (delicious), a side order, and a dinner roll for only $3.99 (drink is not include in this price). Makes a great quick lunch! It is local to where we live (about 2 miles away) and we actually go eat there sometimes. Or we just get the food and bring it home to eat. Of course they have several types of "meat" and side orders on the buffet and you can get as much or as little as you want. Hours are from about 10am to 2pm.
There is also a Waffle House off I-10 at exit 177 in Gonzales, La. But I am not sure there is truck parking handy. Just never paid much attention to that. Years ago 2 of my kids by a previous marriage worked at this one. My son was the cook and yes... he kept up with orders yelled at him and could flip eggs out of the pan and catch them again! My daughter was a waitress.
