Are you looking for work? I heard they just acquired a bunch of new accounts. Sounds like they are growing.
-
What do you want to know. I was a contractor with Master Transfer from July 2010 to March of this year.
If you are looking at going to work for them...here is what to expect:
the trailers are 95% Junk and 5% almost junk
the tractors for the company drivers that do the overnight linehauls (sleeper cabs) are in disrepair. Most will not pass DOT inspection, which is the reason that on any given day, there is a Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Officer sitting out front of their yard in Brooklyn Park.
In September, their Safety Director quit. In November, both their dispatchers quit. Followed by the guy who held it all together at Master, their business manager...I wont mention any names...but they were the ONLY reason I stayed and why I made money.
Their replacements have no clue what they are doing, what HOS rules are, etc... a bunch of rookies.
If you are looking for a company that deosnt follow the rules, have to watch your paycheck to make sure you get paid, have trucks and trailers that belong in the scrap yard, and have a boss who thinks you are a tool...Master Transfer is a good place to work.
If you are looking for a safe and reliable carrier...AVOID MASTER TRANSFER AT ALL COSTS. REMEMBER THE CSA2010 PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO WEED OUT THESE CARIRIERS. YOUR CDL IS YOUR JOB. DO NOT LET THIS CARRIER DESTROY YOUR LIVELYHOOD. -

I literally gasped when I saw that CSA score. Out of idle curiosity I've looked up a couple of dozen companies since the system went live, and that is the worst one I've seen, hand down.

need to check scores

I think before anyone with a good driving record and a clean cdl needs to check the csa score of the company they are driving for or looking to drive for. It only makes sense. They can pull a DAC on us...but for the first time we can see how carriers are being rated...it is a big plus for the trucking industry. By the way, there is also a way you can pull a csa score for and individual driver as well. I will post that link shortly.
truckermac Thanks this. -
Yes,
Please post that link !!! -
Check out S & S Express out of Trenton, TX.....they are trying for new authority to get out from under what is there, but no intentions of changing how they do things or "knuckling under to the Feds and D.O.T. bs".... -
ok...here is the link: https://www.psp.fmcsa.dot.gov/psp/default.aspx
unlike the general csa score for carriers, it is a little different.
From their site:
Welcome to the Pre-Employment Screening Program (PSP)
Your operator-applicant PSP record includes five years of crash data and three years of roadside inspection data from the FMCSA Motor Carrier Management Information System (MCMIS) database.
What you'll need:
- Your current driver's license number
- A credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Discover or American Express)
- A valid email address
- In order to provide a full history, any driver's license number you've held in the last five years
- PDF viewer (download a PDF viewer)
A PSP record purchase costs $10. This fee includes a search on a current commercial driver's license record, and/or any commercial driver's license you have held during the last five years. You must provide the license number and license state for each previous license.
At the completion of your transaction, you can view your record as a PDF. If you would like to print your PSP record, please have a printer ready.
Your receipt will be delivered to you by email from no-reply@nicusa.com.
