Since I recieved my 10 meter CB, I am really interested in what all the other channels can do....I want to learn more...play with it more, maybe even get license..what is the easiest way to learn it and go about this?
Considering becoming a ham'mer, what is needed?

Right now the bands are in so-so shape ....
Not knowing what your radio covers you can lissen to the hams on 28.300 - 28.500 USB around 28.400mhz is widely used. UP on 29.600 is FM and on 29.620, 640, 660 and 680 are repeaters.
one common site is www.arrl.orgMayhemAutoTransport Thanks this. -
10 meter is not a cb.
Arrl and qrz.comBig_m Thanks this. -
CORRECT I didn't see that comment also no radio can be sold for dual cb/ham use.

But the hammer will fall on the user, not the seller, I think.

My old Galaxy 949DX had the SSB shown, eventhough it did not seem, that it could be adjusted at all only Clarified to the correct CB band. But my new cb is a Stryker 447 and it shows only the 40 channels and a 10Khz switch with bands A-H. my understanding is for every band the raio goes up or down .45, so what is the band for each D channel and what would be the best way to get to those bands to listen in? Obviously I am starting out on D 19..thx for helping.

I could not find a list of channels for that radio but if it covers 28.300 - 28.500 you can lissen.
Here 28.450 is a common net frequency .Attached Files:

First off I am trying to learn more and possible become a licensed ham. I had heard before that ham operators attack newbies for using equipment that is used in thier hobby, buy this is rediculous. As I am trying to learn more, you guys have nothing good to say...disappointing!

Please explain this to me. Why is it not possible to use a 10 meter radio for both cb trucking and ham communication use out of the same box??
-
Whoa . . .I'm NOT a ham . . . yet. I meant that the FCC will not go after the retailers selling Exports but can fine the unlicensed that use them. I think they have problems with the courts backing them up.
Yeah, the licensed hams go ape when someone like us xmit on their bands so just listen. I've also heard of the anal types that don't even like us listening.
Sorry I was not very clear with my comment. I apologize.
Ted
