FYI, for ice road trucking, most of the companies now require you to live in the area ( canada or alaska), no more seasonal

Honestly, I can't wait---- that is to have the necessary experience. I'm hopeing that we will have a quiet summer untill we're at least used a little bit more with the roads. But I do believe that the more unexpected situations life puts you in, the more experienceyou get.

Can you repair a flat yourself at the side of the road? Can you change out a blown brake pot in minus 40 weather in a snow bank?

These are some of the skills you need to drive the ice roads.

Ha ha ha now that's funny right there!

You do not need to be able to do any of that.

They do here. You head north and there is no service truck to fix you up. Stuck is stuck broke down is not an option.

    Your experiences may differ.

    johnday and trucker_101 Thank this.
