    *Ahem*....

    You were saying??

Actually, I can see this happening with Swift....sort of. The O/P does not specify whether the two individuals took it upon themselves to rent the car, despite that we know Swift would never rent a car for anyone, much less a brand new driver. Swift is short on trucks right now. Just check the many posts about this very thing. However, there is a "new" program being set up in several terminals wherein new drivers, less productive drivers and screwoffs who want to be home all the time are being placed in a "slip-seat" fleet. The driver takes the truck out for 14 days, returns to the terminal and cleans it out for 7 days of home time. Another driver takes it from there. When the first driver returns to work, he or she gets a different truck. There are specific truck numbers relegated to this fleet. A brand new driver freshly released from training would go on this fleet for a while before being turned loose with a dedicated truck.

Since my brother works for CRST out of the Fontana yard and they are almost exclusively teams, with the rare exception of the occasional O/O, and our O/P's hubby is teamed up (ostensibly with another new driver) my guess would have to be CRST.

Foxfire, Swift does not partner two new drivers together unless arrangements were made prior to employment agreements. It doesn't sound like the O/P's hubby is seeking other employment. It sounds to me like our O/P is asking whether this truck thing is industry standard. I can't answer that except to say it has not been my experience.

I would suggest our O/P go to the company DAC reports section and ask the question there...to garner the answer from someone employed by the same company as her hubby. She may get a more relevant answer to her question there.

That happens all the time. One sends them after the truck. Meanwhile someone else gives it away to someone else. I've had that done with loads before too. You get sent after a load and someone else already got it. Lack of communication.
It's scary they partner two new drivers together. Double trouble. :)
