Ok along this post I've read several of you mentioning that the training pay "wasn't much" plz define that. I consider what I make not "not much" which is one of the reasons that I'm looking at OTR. Presently as a full time school bus driver (38 hours a week) I make $1000 take home per month.

@lunaglow - Well was going to send you a PM about that information but it says I've not posted enough to send you one so as soon as I get a high enough ranking I'd still like to get that info from you.

This might be a thread that will be worth looking at

@sydsdriver Thanks! I will most definately look at this. Anyone actually completed the program on here that you know of? Also do you know anyone that is still on with them? Says something if they not only are that good but good enough to get people to stay on.

Yeah. Read through that thread. You will get the good and the bad. But the driver who started the thread is now done with school, adn still with them.

I read through the post but no one has said if they are a L/O only or do they have company drivers? I'd post there but don't want to get involved in the drama.

At Swift after you get done with school you go out with a driver trainer(Mentor) that is when you start to get paid. If I have my info right. You get paid the first 2 weeks $350, 2nd 2 weeks $450 and the 3rd 2 weeks $500. Then when you get your own COMPANY truck you make 29 cents a mile for the first 3 months you are out, then 30 cents the next 3 months, then 31 cents the next three months, then by the end of your first year you get 32 cents per mile. Does not sound like much but it adds up if you get about 2500 miles a week.

Do you know if Swift allows passengers after you go solo? I plan on taking my wife along once I get up and moving.
