I live in Tinley Park , IL. A suburb about 25 miles south of Chicago. Are there any dropyards near the Chicagoland area that any drivers may know of.

Would you happen to know where in Blue Island? I start with Pam this week on the 31st. And I just want to know where I can park my truck when I take my home time.

Can't quite remember, but Blue Island is about as big as spit. It is a small fenced yard that is shared with USA Truck, and for the most part they will be the majority of the trucks on the yard. It is beside an old warehouse near where a set of train tracks cross. You have to have the pass code number in order to get into the gate. It has been a number of years for me, so I can't remember the address.

    Kevo The Trucker Thanks this.

Thanks, I can figure it out since it's a small area.

It's not a "PAM" drop yard. It was a Decker drop yard that PAM held on to. I forgot whose name, if any, is on the front of it. But, in answer to your question, it is on Western, just south of Burr Oak. It's basically just south of where the one-way Western meets with the other one-way Gregory and becomes Western. :p

Just google map it, address is 13636 S Western, Blue Island, IL

If you are driving for PAM, you may not have to worry about home time as much as you think.

Why not? I get home whenever I want. Granted, it isnt very often because I have no real reason to come home....but whenever I DO want to come home, I get home.

Last year, for example, I bought baseball tickets to every disAstros game that had a bobblehead promotion. I only missed one. (and that was just because the weeks were too close together)

Yeah first time I went there I missed it because it didn't look like the typical drop yards. It seemed like a rundown industrial site and I didn't really like hanging out around their to many weird people tried to bug me for money.

Its the Blue Island Yard. I was supposed to go t-call/switch loads there a couple weeks ago but didn't so I have never been there. I still have my notes an directions. Address is below. You will have to get gate code on your own from dispatch. Yes I have it too but I am not giving it out LOL.

    Decker Trans and RFT Dist
    13636 Western Ave.
    Blue Island, IL

Go west on I-57 to exit 350 and go east on N. Silby Rd.
At 1st StopLight (Dixie) (Western) Take Left.
Cross over twoo sets of Railroad Tracks and left before 3rd set of tracks.

    Trucks use the south gate.

Hopefully you had already found the place but if not thats it. You will need gate code permission from dispatch before arriving.
