Hey there QueenRock,
I drove for Opies about 5 years ago. They were a terric company in
my eyes. The owner, Danny Opie is a very cordial, nice, informative owner.
The Safety Director James Henley (Everyone calls him HAP.) Is a former
driver for opies. Has over 20 years driving experience.
When i was there they had only 3 dispatchers, very easy to get along
with. Small dispatch office, but how much room do you need for that.
I lived in Okc at the time and got home every other weekend for 2-2.5 days. They always kept me rolling. I got good miles and quite the paycheck. Never had problems with my payroll or paycheck. They go all over the United States. I was about to get a dedicated route from Springfield,Mo to California before I left. I left b/c to be quite honest to ya I didnt feel comfortable or safe hauling an open bore tanker.
The company is wonderful. Your health insurance is Company paid FREE
insurance to you. They have really good equipment. Kenworths. They keep them maintained very well. You have a problem with anything company,payroll,truck,miles,safety.....TELL THEM. ITs a small outfit based out of Eldon,Mo EXCELLENT company. They expect you to work when its time to work though, and you're home every other weekend if things havent changed.
Give them a call and see what you think.queenrocks77 Thanks this. -
Thanks for the info. I'm starting orientation next week. It'll be my first tanker job but after 12 years of dealing with lumpers and store deliveries and rolls paper I think its time for something different.
