Im looking at getting a new cb and dont want to jump in blind folded. I had a cobra 25 15 years ago and kinda want to get another but dont know what the pro's and con's are of each cb. I have a single cab longbed diesel truck and want to put a lil will on my toolbox, its aluminum so i was thinking of riveting and piece of steel the same diametor of the magnet to the center of the tool box and then running and ground wire. Is this a good or bad idea? Please teach a newbie.

If you put the lil wil on your tool box you'll prob. have high SWR. You don't want that.

Best place for the antenna is the roof, probably above the cargo light. It needs to be dead center of vehicle.

The Lil wil is an ok antenna but if you want to do better, look into a Wilson 1000.

The Cobra 25 is an excellent radio and a radio i often refer to people as a 1st radio. Don't overlook the Uniden PC68 though, it's a good radio too.
