If you were already with Schneider you should have stayed and learned with your trainer. Even though shifting might not have been in his/her job description, if you were learning it would not have been a waste of anyones time. Anyway like some have mentioned there are companies that you can start with to get this down or you can rent a truck also. Go to you tube and watch some videos. My brother went to one of "them" schools paid for by his company and had an issue also since they trained him on a 5 speed. Called when he got his brand new truck with a 9 speed in it. What a bunch of CROOKS.

You can also try going back to the Crooks that you paid the money to and see if they have any 8, 9 or 10 speeds there and request that they give you time in one to get some practice in, otherwise maybe you will seek other avenues since they are basically defrauding people because there are very very (read very) few companies that require a Class A license and only have 5 speed transmissions. Good luck.

Thanx for posting that 101. At least they state it up front, but I dont know why they would have "advanced training" for a 9 speed, thats about as standard as you can get

Kind of what I was thinking...They sure skipped a lot of vital information to call them selves a school. That's like english class teaching you about adjectives, verbs, nouns, & adverbs but not going over sentence structure or how to compose a paragraph and put them altogether to me...

Whats so hard about "double clutching" ? You push in the peddle when you come out of gear, release the pedal while passing thru neutral and press the pedal again while catching the next gear and release the pedal, your done "double clutching". 10 speeds, You shift 5 gears low, pull/switch the button , and start over again, 5 high. No charge for this crash course. :biggrin_25525: Goodluck to ya.....

Tell us how this "renting" from penske/ryder goes will you?

    Trucker Please.

After you get turned down by ryder/penske, i feel the best bet is to try with another company. Really Schneider was a good deal for you. See if you can get back on with them. If the trainer was any dam good, he would have put you in the tractor only in a large parking lot until you got the shifting down.

Also, please cut it out with god bless thing. i get it.

Well, not to turn to a religious war, but Onyx can Bless me all he or she wants. I know I'll accept all the help I can get, especially from someone who means well.

If the underlined portion was meant as I read it, then I'll "Pray for you" as the popular country song says.....:biggrin_25525:
