Sentence structure on a forum leaves a lot to be desired, and so be it...but it makes me crazy when a professional journalist uses poor structure, and leaves people guessing - if you didn't read the whole article, you might think that BOTH vehicles were driving the wrong way, and then people would (of course) assume it was the big truck driver's faut...

"The crash involved a gasoline tanker and a truck driving the wrong way on I-30 around 2:30 a.m. Monday, Fort Worth Fire Department spokesman Tim Hardeman said.

That structure indicates that both were, not just one.

just saw on the news, the pick up truck driver admitted he had been drinking for the last 6 hours before the wreck. they are saying its gonna be about 5 months to repair the damage, some of the steel beams underneath warped from the heat of the fire. the road needs resurfaced, and the cure process takes 30 days alone for that....the tanker driver was a father of 3 the youngest being only 11. i can not tell you how freaking mad this makes me.....i only hope that in time, this poor family can find some way to deal with this and find some sort of peace and comfort!!!!

    >>>Other than those BIG "wrong way" signs, I don't know what can be done to avoid this in the future..

Easy, the law needs to quit treating it like an accident and like 1st degree murder, DWI is a conscious malicious act, not an accident...People KNOW DWI generally gets a slap on the wrist and not much worse in many cases when a death is involved...These are not accidents, they are 100% preventable murders...

I have no sympathy for people that drink and drive and if they didn't kill someone, they were just lucky...

I agree, anytime someone is behind the wheel drunk they need to be charged with attempted murder. I'd rather see some inconsiderate coward drunk in jail then some dumb teenager who was buying some pot.

And I do not buy for a minute the driver died instantly, they are not going to convince me that a pickup and a semi meet head on and the car driver walks away barely injuries but the truck driver died on impact? I doubt it. He died from fire. It may have been 'fast' but it was certainly not instant. And if they release the death report I bet you will find that out.

And as far as stopping the wrong way guys, they have a device that's been used in parking garages for years....the spikes. It's not expensive and it works well.

    RIP Mr. Driver......

What a shame. Husband/father/brother is dead because some selfish ####### decided he was ok to drive home. I'm glad they charged the driver with Intoxication Manslaughter. Looks like Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (our alcohol regulatory authority in Texas) is looking into what bars the drunk had been to, and may pursue cases against the bars for over-serving.

Best Wishes to the drivers family, I too hope the suspected drunk rots in Prison, I heard the death penalty inb Texas is a bit faster in this type of case. Take Care.
