isn't CW just the code for Morris code? When someone new is trying to learn this, can't you guys just talk in layman's terms? Like SSB just say single-side band! Mark my words, this Sunday I will be a new licensed hammer! I am taking the task and have already studied a couple practice exams, and when someone asks me about it and is new to the am radio, I will do my best to not talk in code.

As primitive and simplistic as it seems the binary dot and dash form of communcation is very usefull in certain situations. It as easy as learning Sign Language, the hard part is conversation. That takes a skilled translator and quick thinking.
