17-year old Carissa Lynn Thompson may have never even seen the semi her car slammed into Tuesday morning.

this is in response to the person who made the remark about the teen girl who lost her life slamming into the back of a dump truck in st.clair, missouri
asking if the bimbo was speeding or texting at the time.
You are a classic example of what is wrong with the trucking industry and the type of driver it chooses to employ these days. You have no compassion or sensitivity of any kind to make that kind of remark about any 17 year old child that has lost her life due to whatever circumstance may have caused it. Isnt the fact that she lost her life punishment enough? I've witnessed the stupidity of alleged "professional" truck drivers
who day after day plow through 20 mph construction zones doing 55+,
tailgate 4wheelers within mere inches of their bumpers and cause fatalaties on a regular basis out there. I hope you know you have set your "karma" in stone with your in-humanity. Probably well deserved in your case.

There was no link to the article. There was one sentence about the accicdent, and that sentence stated that the girl probably didn't see the semi that she slammed into. Why would you not see a semi truck that you slammed into? Because she wasn't paying attention to what she was doing. I have problems with ANYONE who gets behind the wheel of a deadly weapon and doesn't pay attention. Yes, there are bad teenage drivers out there, and bad truck drivers out there, and bad elderly drivers out there, etc. There are also very capable teenage drivers out there, and very capable truck drivers out there, and very capable elderly drivers out there, etc. I do not sterotype bad or good drivers by their age. I do have a problem however with anyone who doesn't take driving seriously and endangers us all.

According to a study by the University of Utah, "drivers on cell phones are as bad as drunks". Source here.

Yet you made your first comment with this?
That is a TEXTBOOK case of stereotyping.

I find your comments regarding Ms. Thompson's accident and demise quite disgusting and in poor taste.

You sir are a classic example of stereotyping trucking. While I agree there are many truckers out there that somewhere along the line forgot what they learned in school or from the CDL manual there are also many more private vehicles being driven in a careless manner. I am ten times more likely to be tailgated by a car than a truck. I am ten times more likely to be passed on a country road by a car speeding. While the 'bimbo" title was a little insensitive, teenagers have a high rate of accidents. Insurance companies realize this and they rate policies accordingly. We had a popular high school girl, who's mother was a teacher at my son's school in Arkansas be killed by a train she crossed in front of because she was busy talking on a cell phone and was not paying attention to her surroundings. Cell phones and driving is not only limited to teenagers. People of all ages talk and drive everyday. The light changes and they sit because they didn't realize the light is now green. They make a left turn in front of traffic because they were too busy to notice that big truck coming from the opposite direction. Then there are those that are in too big of a hurry to get from point A to point B to drive at the posted speed limit. God forbid they keep a safe travel distance. No they have to get right on the tail of the car in front of them thinking it will intimidate it to move over. How about those that race up on a slower moving car and wait until the last moment to change lanes to pass. I'm sorry this child lost her life. I feel for the parents who now have to bury their child. I only wish this girl's death would be a wake up call to others so that their driving habits changed for the better. Unfortunately this won't happen.

The only thing I find insulting is the word "bimbo". The rest was, unfortunately, true.
