The purpose of a firearm is lethal force. Yes you can scare people with them. Most people have the thought shoot first and ask questions later. These people should not have guns.

Agree.....The only time i would shoot is if they had a gun.
I would think 99% of the time if they know i have one they would be out of there in a hurry.

Maybe get certified with an ASP. The sound alone of that thing snapping into full length can intimidate some.

For me, since I cross from Canada to the US and back, I can't go carrying weapons. However, that thing looks kinda neat. -
My question is.... how well can those x-ray and infrared machines at all of those border checkpoints read objects?

Probably not well enough if the device is forward in the cab. However, in three years of weekly crossings my truck was physically inspected three times by the U.S. CBP... very thoroughly.
So, I'll agree with TheHealthyDriver.
But I do have a big 'ol can of wasp spray in the driver's door pocket and a hammer right under the seat.

That won't really help any because you'll still need a gun to kill all their personal-injury trial lawyers. LOL
