any CAV unit is authorized the stetson and spurs....but you have to do either a combat tour or spur ride to get them (i did two spur rides, got both both times, also lost them twice....dont ask)

Okay, thanks, I couldn't remember. My sister was 82nd and I knew she been to Bragg around 1975. I'll have to ask my brother about Ft.Cambell. He went in 1969 and been to Nam, Korea, and Germany and about four times to Iraq before he retired. Heck he been overseas more than home.

Good thread don't know that there is an answer that could be found without it being speculative..
My uncles sf in stan right now
Id say they're all bada$$ and glad they're on my side -
But they are the exception on this base.
Bumpy Thanks this. -
Your buddy has guardian angel. 2 hits and still alive is real good. Even some of the up-armored MRAPs get hurt by a big IED. -
How does one compare different military units without taking into account their unit's missions? It's impossible to say who's more "######" because it's completely subjective.
You can't become an operator for Delta without having first gone through SF selection and the Q-course. You also have to at least be an E5. You can be recruited by Delta without having gone through SF if they require your MOS. Such as an aircraft electrician, etc. They are a self sustained unit.
There are a lot of SF soldiers that aren't sporting a Ranger tab, and to be honest unless you've spent some time in a Ranger Bat, the tab doesn't mean a whole lot. It's kind of like having gone through jump school and never jumping again, A.K.A - 5 jump chump.
But what do I know anyway... I'm dumb as a boxorox. -
Oh ya, lets not forget to mention LRSD while were at it. A lot of SF soldiers and Rangers eventually "graduate" to LRSD.
